The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!

Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Let them go! Let them go!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Considering he did it all while working full time, he made good time, didn't he?

But it'll be a load off your mind finally not having it hanging over you guys!

OK, I'm tired of playing music, tired of reading, and it's too hot to do much outside. Guess I'm off to attempt to find a decent movie.

I gotta figure out what's wrong with the pool...it's green. I can't figure it out...the chlorine levels are good, I shocked it. The pH is good too.

Hmph.

Heh...maybe you can identify with this.

I was trying to remember a tune my brother used to play and I COULD NOT remember the name of it. It was bothering me a lot. You know how it can be when you can't quite remember a fact or the name of a character in a book or something, and it's right on the tip of your tongue, but you can't bring it to mind? Ugh!

I called home JUST to get the name of the tune. Dad was amused, but understood. And once I had the name, I could look it up and play it and get it unstuck...

I love my crazy family. ;-)

I copied this to the Saddle Club thread...

Here are the pics from the trail ride this morning.

When we first got there, Rebecca really took to Chief.

We rode out of there and towards the trail.

We entered the nice, shady trail. It was a relief because it was hot today!

I took this pic for Hair. :-D

Here we are, still in one-piece, when we got back.

Rebecca rode Mocha (arabian?) and I was on Katy (I'm guessing a QH).

We're tired and hungry, but had a great time. My legs and butt are sore from when Katy started to trot and I, of course, have ~no~ idea how to hang on. So I bounced quite a bit! LOL!

Rebecca didn't bounce at all. She looked just gorgeous up there.

That happens to most pools late in the summer. Try shocking it again, maybe even a couple of times. It's just algae buildup that you'll get even when your numbers are normal.

However, I should clarify that you now have the extent of my knowledge.

Heh! Ok.

I vacuumed it and it just seemed to stir things up. Then the jedis and I got on the edges and pushed on it and sloshed it around good...lol! To mix up the chemicals, you know? It's in the process of being shocked...I think I'm going to go ahead and get a fresh filter and maybe some algecide, when Steve comes home.

Gonna soak my poor foot right now, though.

That looks like a great horse day! :-) Memorable for her I'm sure.

Thanks for the kind wishes everybody! :-)

Well, I'm outta the hospital/gulag. [woohoo!]. Back at home. Looks like I'll be here all week taking meds and going back to the doc for follows up.

Not a lot of fun still, but things seem under control and improving. Dodged a pretty nasty bullet, it seems. Pain is pretty minor, and they gave me some happy pills just in case.

[sigh]

I'm so glad you're outta there! Home is the best place to be...hospitals are nasty places...you want to be in your home with all your familiar germs! (You might think I'm kidding, but I'm not...you are used to your germs, it's other people's germs that'll get you!)

That's why when I had my babies, I would get up and get completely dressed (including sneakers) asap so the doc would let me go home. Joshua developed complications after we got him home but they were easy to deal with using a visiting nurse and I was positive my home was clean! (Simply a bad case of jaundice. He had to wear a black-light device wrapped around his middle!)

Get in and get out...that's my hospital policy! Besides, you can really relax when your home and it's just not possible in the hospital.

There's no place like home.

I'm so happy to see you're home from the hospital.

Glad to hear you'll have sometime off, even if it's not the best reason. :-D

Of course what our previous President used to swear to was that her dad would just invite the nayberhood kids over, 'cause they'd just pee in the pool. Said it cleared it right up.

Proceed at your own risk.

Checking in.

Just wrapped up one *very* successful family soiree. The house is exceedingly clean. The food was good. Folks who needed to be impressed were impressed.

Muh feet hurt. Will catch up tomorrow.
