Old woman kicks friend to death

NISHINOMIYA, Hyogo -- An old woman pensioner who fatally kicked and bashed a female friend has been arrested, police said.

Reiko Yuzawa, 65, the pensioner from Nishinomiya, was arrested for inflicting bodily injury resulting in the death of Eiko Morimura, a 59-year-old woman from the same city.

Yuzawa denies the allegations.

Police said Yuzawa was holding a party at her home on Friday in conjunction with the group she heads for people with an interest in health foods, which Morimura attended.

Several people were there and at least one claims to have seen Yuzawa unleash an attack on Morimura, police said.

Yuzawa called for an ambulance on Friday morning and Morimura was taken to a nearby hospital.

Following an autopsy on Morimura on Saturday, which showed she had died as a result of damage to her internal organs, Nishinomiya Police Station decided to question Yuzawa, then later arrested her. (Mainichi)
