You scored as Fundamentalist. You are a fundamentalist. You take the Bible as the foundation of your faith and read it very literally, and it shapes your worldview. Non-fundamentalist Christians have watered-down the Gospel in your view, and academic study of the Bible stops us from 'taking God at his word.' Science is opposed to faith, as it contradicts basic biblical truths.

I scored differently than you did. But the test still put me in the same box as you. Why must we have the same box?

You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan. You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

"Perhaps He's like to explain his motives for allowing murder in His name."

While I dare not be so vain as to claim to know or comprehend GOD's will, if you allow the notion that GOD and GOD alone is perfect, than all of his creation is, by definition imperfect. GOD's love for us is perfect, which is why we are granted the free will to accept or reject him. Which is more satisfying to you...having people approach you and engage you because they like being around you, respect your opinion, need your expertise etc., or because by virtue of rank, position, status, etc. they have no choice but to engage you? I believe that GOD has given us free will because he wants us to explore and experience his creation and turn to him of our own free will. Of course, many opt not to do that, and in that sense, HE did not create evil, but he made it possible. Indeed, he would NOT be omnipotent if he did not make all things (evil included) possible.

CS Lewis allegorically addressed the notion of evil, "done in HIS name," in "The Last Battle."

"Then I fell at his feet and thought, Surely this is the hour of death, for the Lion (who is worthy of all honour) will know that I have served Tash all my days and not him. Nevertheless, it is better to see the Lion and die than to be Tisroc of the world and live and not to have seen him. But the Glorious One bent down his golden head and touched my forehead with his tongue and said, 'Son, thou art welcome.' But I said, 'Alas, Lord, I am no son of thine but the servant of Tash." He answered, 'Child, all the service though hast done to Tash, I account as service done to me.' Then by reason of my great desire for wisdom and understanding, I overcame my fear and questioned the Glorious One and said, 'Lord, is it then true as the Ape said, that thou and Tash are one?' The Lion growled so that the earth shook (but his wrath was not against me) and said, 'it is false. Not because he and I are one, but because we are opposites - I take to me the services which thou hast done to him. For I and he are of such different kinds that no service which is vile can be done to me, and none which is not vile can be done to him. Therefore, if any man swear by Tash and keep his oath for the oath's sake, it is by me that he has truly sworn, though he know it not, and it is I who reward him. And if any man do a cruelty in my name, then though he says the name Aslan, it is Tash whom he serves and by Tash his deed is accepted."

If free will means that you are allowed to kill because someone doesn't believe in your interpretation of God then I say bring on the Puppets.

If atheists believed in a deity they'd be deists or worse yet, theists. Isn't this fun?

I had to look up some of the names mentioned. This quiz was for the afficionados, not the wayward near atheist, untutored in these matters. And so it goes.

If we have free will, it follows that God does also.

Actually you have it exactly backwards. We are made in the image of God, imperfectly but in His image nonetheless. Not the other way around.

Perhaps He's like to explain his motives for allowing murder in His name.

Spoken like a true leftist. You didn't commit the crime, God made you do it.

You're not alone though, there are millions who wish somebody would pull their strings and shoulder their responsibilities. They, and you, would gladly give up God's greatest gift. Sad.

Seems there is a very fine line between George Masons classic liberalism and Teddy Kennedys modern liberalism and in this test you've crossed it.

Ouch! LOL

I didn't like some of the questions - they presented a Hobson's choice for me. I was just forced to answer them. On some questions, "don't know" or "it doesn't matter" would have been my best answer. But I am a modern liberal theolgically in the sense that I view the chief benefit of Christ (and some other philosophers/religious leaders, but Christ has a certain je ne sais qua) is on this mortal coil - to inspire us to be better than we would otherwise be, inspired by his/their moral example. The rest is rounding error.

No, I found it excruciatingly painful. I quit after 20 but I would have self identified as a Catholic with questions concerning deedsm the Virgin Mary, the Papacy and the "one, holy and catholic apostolic church". :-}

Like you, I found many of the answrs were none of the above. So I didn't finish.
