Hrmm. You raise a good point.
There have been several, one in Michigan and one in Texas have had their stories posted on FR. For whatever reason, the authorities have been trying these folks on immigration charges rather than terrorism charges, so there are probably more than we've told about.
IOW, you're right...we're not being told.
If there were a strong political movement to force landmines, though, I guaranty you that the politicians would finally do SOMETHING to stop the illegal inflow short of landmines.
The best motivator is the fear that if you don't act, your opponents will force something more drastic on you.
I just noticed that. I thought this was about Homeland security, our borders and the potential for terrorist attacks.
I wonder why the moderator would want to try and sweep this thread under the rug?
I could agree with you there....
We aid those that we need too (Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain in the Middle East), not who we WANT too (which is the current list)....something like that....
Wow. You're really wound up tight.
Yes. Profiling does work. Why do you think groups like Code Pink and Rangin' Grannies are being looked into? They are mostly white, and American citizens.
Profiling got those that have burned SUV dealerships and burned contruction sites caught too.
just let me tell you, there ARE NOT that many....
I won't say anymore....
He He...someone who gets it! Hang tough Mike.
Sorry buddy, but it looks like your thread has been relocated to the basement.
Thanks.
LOL
I am not wound up as tight as some on these threads today....
profiling is a Libertarian's nightmare. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.
I agree we should look into people coming from certain countries so hold your flames. But the problem is that the AQ rot has spread so deeply in Europe that we will eventually have a blonde and blue jihadist flying over here on a plane from Sweden or somewhere that we have never heard of before and he will be perfectly legal.
AQ isn't stupid. They know that if you dont make a blip on the radar so to speak, chances are you won't get caught.
hehe
we had an issue with some of our I-9 forms while I was over in Iraq last year.
I didnt know if I should have laughed about it or not, but my supervisor and his supervisor said just get the damned things filled out because someone had lost the originals. Since we were all new hires that made a bit of sense, but the form is practically useless.
I agree.
But it would sure help, along with a host of other things we should be doing.
Gotta go to work. Have a goodun!
see ya...have a good day....
Probably my fault for mentioning the North American Community.
Every thread where it is mentioned dies.
Coincidence?
There are none.
President Offers Condolences to People of London, Will Not Yield to Terrorists

PRESIDENT BUSH: I spent some time recently with the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and had an opportunity to express our heartfelt condolences to the people of London, people who lost lives. I appreciate Prime Minister Blair's steadfast determination and his strength. He's on his way now to London here from the G8 to speak directly to the people of London. He'll carry a message of solidarity with him.
This morning I have been in contact with our Homeland Security folks. I instructed them to be in touch with local and state officials about the facts of what took place here and in London, and to be extra vigilant, as our folks start heading to work.
The contrast between what we've seen on the TV screens here, what's taken place in London and what's taking place here is incredibly vivid to me. On the one hand, we have people here who are working to alleviate poverty, to help rid the world of the pandemic of AIDS, working on ways to have a clean environment. And on the other hand, you've got people killing innocent people. And the contrast couldn't be clearer between the intentions and the hearts of those of us who care deeply about human rights and human liberty, and those who kill -- those who have got such evil in their heart that they will take the lives of innocent folks.
The war on terror goes on. I was most impressed by the resolve of all the leaders in the room. Their resolve is as strong as my resolve. And that is we will not yield to these people, will not yield to the terrorists. We will find them, we will bring them to justice, and at the same time, we will spread an ideology of hope and compassion that will overwhelm their ideology of hate.
Thank you very much.

A big attack on the CONUS would actually help them implement the plan.
Perhaps the TSA. The new, big, bloated, bureaucracy established after the cows had left the barn and generally used to harass American citizens.
