You are on this thread as not wanting land mines, saying fences are unworkable, no troops, no isolationism, no racial profiling, and calling a bunch of people names.

You've also hinted that this is your "job", that things are different "over here", now you "resent" my pointing this out.

I can't say for certain, but I'm starting to think you may be a troll.

For a solution to our border issues, I advocate militia groups to shore up the border patrol and National Guard units. Anyone caught blatantly invading the border should be apprehended and sent back, or even shot on the spot if they prove a threat. Fencing, electronic perimeter, mines, and automated gun emplacements should be used. Manned and unmanned aerial patrol craft should be employed. Use the money we would normally shell out in entitlements to fund the effort. Those billions of dollars would be better spent enforcing the border than in bothering trying to keep them alive if they manage to make it here anyway. Illegals caught committing crimes (murder and rape) in the US should be executed. No extradition, just execute them. Those illegals committing non-violent crimes should be sent back to their country of origin and that country charged for their prosecution and transport. Countries failing to comply with the terms of the bill should be considered hostile and trade barriers erected.

There is this little thing called terrorism. Leaving our borders wide open will only bring it here that much more easily. We should be putting every effort into securing our borders. Not making excuses why it can't be done.

>"Why all the emphasis on nonlethal means to repel invaders?"<

I'm not for killing people who come here for work, albeit illegaly. Terrorists, drug runners and human smugglers, sure, but land mines don't know the difference...landmines are indiscriminate in who they blow up, and that includes U.S. citizens and children.

Land mines work in war, but are a ridiculous idea for protecting our border. No responsible person in the US govt will ever entertain such a goofy idea, thank goodness.

"Skip the mines, there is no need."

I say let the invaders "skip the mines". I agree with the multiple fences but I think mines would provide that extra deterrent. When Abdul and Akmed are belly crawling along the perimeter and Akmed go boom Abdul will be looking for a safe route back from when-st he came.

I'd prefer automated and even manned gun emplacements to land mines. If we ever do annex Mexico, we'll need to clean the border up. Gun emplacements are easier to move than land mines.

Ok just what do you think we are doing here playing water polo? This country is at WAR! See this is partly Bush's fault for not emphasizing the point to the American public that we are in a real shooting, cutting off heads, knocking down towers war. Until the country comes to this realization we will not accept the fact that we need to defend our homeland with yes, dare I say it--lethal means.

Well, we did have a successful method of stopping illegal immigration for a while called "Operation Wetback" in 1954 but it was stopped because some people got too PC about it.

Operation Wetback - 1954

My father and I were discussing this one time and he suggested a border set up much like we have between the two Koreas (he served in Korea from 1955 to 56) and I agreed and added, somewhat dark humor style, "in addition to land mines, use radioactive waste." My father quipped, "that'll work, at least we can see them glow green as they try to cross the border at night." Well, maybe land mines is a bit too strong along with radioactive waste, although my father loved the idea, we do need "Operation Wetback II."

It seems like we are rewarding lawbreaking and having a "gästarbeiten" (guest worker) program is no answer either. Protect the borders, come here legally with the idea of some assimilation otherwise, you will be busted and sent back home.

And what a tragedy for America that the head quisling sits in the White House! Many people still do not realize what they have elected.

Well, I don't go that far, but he is still buying into some of the agenda of the New World Order with the idea of combining Canada, US and Mexico into one. I applaud the President on taking it to the terrorists but we are leaving a gaping hole towards our Southern borders although there have been incidents from Canada too. Either he is still buying into some of the agenda of the New World Order or maybe Vincente Fox has a pic of the President in bed with Richard Simmons, beyond that, I have no true explanation. B-) B-P /sarcasm>

Because I'm not going through every single one of your posts. You think I've got nothing else going on right now other than sitting here digging through your posting history?

The posts listed carry out my contention and provide the qoutes for others to go and see exactly what you said. Your words speak for themselves.

OK, let's say you get your land mines.

What do you do when al-Qaeda starts stealing a page from the Viet Cong playbook? The VC just LOVED it when we laid minefields. That was where they got the material for their booby traps.

Sealing a border that large is not going to fix it. The illegals will ALWAYS try to find a way because I guess they don't see any alternative.

Your words. Enough said.

LOL

if you can't see it for yourself you are blind.

We need better ideas than just sealing the borders with fences. Criminals find ways into secure buildings all the time. Illegals will continually find ways to defeats walls, fences, patrols, land mines you name it.

there is a smarter way, a more cost effective and safe way, than land mines, machine gun pits and fences. Sure fences would be nice and what we have IS A JOKE. But they can be and generally are defeated.

The Berlin Wall only stopped the ones that didn't have the drive. The desperate ones ALWAYS got through.

You don't like any of those ideas. Remember? Cause the might hurt de wittle itty bitty babies the illegals bwing wit dem.

Right now our government is doing NOTHING but more of the same that got us where we are now. Anyone dares suggest anything even remotely workable and you appear to come down on them for it. I also noticed you still haven't answered any of my other questions.

If you are right and the desperate ones will always get through I guess we should just call the whole thing off right? Don't be a tard. Slowing the flow to a trickle is a hell of a lot better than this unrestrained flood we are dealing with now.

You shoot them. Remember as I've said in earlier posts the mines are in addition to increased border patrols. You simply shoot the invaders that don't get blown up by the mines. Remember this is war.
