NEW YORK - Rapper Lil' Kim escaped a stiff prison sentence Wednesday after telling a judge she was a "God-fearing good person" who regretted lying to a federal grand jury about a 2001 shootout outside a Manhattan radio station.
The Grammy winner was sentenced to one year and one day for perjury and conspiracy a term far less than the three years and seven months sought by prosecutors.
U.S. District Judge Gerard Lynch said he had weighed the public perception of sending a young black entertainer to prison far longer than Martha Stewart, who spent five months in prison and remains under house arrest after a false statements conviction.
Lynch suggested Lil' Kim (real name: Kimberly Jones) deserved more time because she had lied about a violent crime, not a white-collar scheme. He also noted that unlike Stewart, she took the witness stand at her trial earlier this year and repeated her lies.

That's ultra-liberal Martha Stewart, who lied and went to prison. Let's write this the same way they name conservatives...
Anyone see how this "God-fearing" woman dresses? I had the misfortune of seeing the lyrics of one of her songs. She should say "pimp-fearing"!
Who the hell is Lil Kim and why do we care? There are so many un-talented "rappers" out there, it is funny to watch all the crimes they commit so all can see what worthless people they are, so why are they considered celebrities???? If they had any talent, they might be considered true musicians. Big secret, no rapper has any talent, they can ryme, but can't write music. They can't carry a tune. This rapper generation is lost. Hopfully the next generation will be able to write music. Ok, who is the first to defend the rappers?
I'm not going to defend rappers, but I found it interesting how many logical abstractions popped up in your post.
One was what is called 'Asserting the Consequent' where the propositional logic in your argument has a non-validating form. For example in one sentence you say There are so many un-talented "rappers" out there, it is funny to watch all the crimes they commit so all can see what worthless people they are, so why are they considered celebrities????. The beginning and end of that sentence are technically illogical ....at least from a strict standpoint.
There were also several syllogistic fallacies, as well as at least one sweeping generalization (dicto simpliciter ad dictum secundum quid) in the part where you say 'they can ryme (rhyme) but can't write music.' And that same sentence is also an existential fallacy, particularly the way lack of talent among rappers is linked with a presumed inability to write music. Plus add to that the fact the sentence is an illicit conversion in and of itself, particularly fallacious in terms of quantifiable logic.
And then there is the way the whole post begins with 'why should we care' and ends with expressed hope for the next generation being able to write music and woe for the current lost generation ('This rapper generation is lost. Hopfully (hopefully) the next generation will be able to write music.') And then there is the termination that takes the form of a thrown gauntlet ...challening any reader to come up with a defence when in reality you had made your point so solidly none was needed ....but because of the demi-challenge the probability for a defence arising was heightened. This would be akin to someone winning a poker game, and instead of pocketing the winnings placing a gambit by asking if anyone would take double-or-nothing odds. He had already won the match and thus that was not necessary.
And at this point let me go and extract the rather sizeable stick up mine .....plus let me be the first to say that my entire post is classic 'Tu Quoque,' where a person tries to quasi-defend another by criticising something about the accuser. For example Michael Jackson's lawyers used classic Tu Quoque with great effectiveness against the prosecution witnesses (particularly the kid's mother ....althoough to be honest that woman was a Defender's wet dream since she was just perfect for Wacko-Jacko).
And let me add that this is just a silly post on my part. Don't take it seriously. It's just that I have many debates with my sis (who has this tendency to never lose anything) and hence i am always on toes for such things. LOL. Now, to finish that extraction surgery and get rid of the big stick ......
Have a blessed evening. And by the way I am in total agreement with everything you said.
Lol.
Had a little extra time on your hands, huh?
I'm no fan of Lil Kim, but I think it ridiculous that she'd be sent to jail for 3 1/2 years for this. I think even the sentance handed down is rather harsh. Isn't there some more dangerous woman who could fill that cell?
The feds really seem to be getting out of control. Instead of closing the border, or going after the Muslim terrorist sleepers that we all know darn well are out there, or chasing down the illegal criminals on the lam, or the released sex criminals who are preying on women and children, they are jailing women (Martha, Lil Kim, Judith Miller) and reporters (That other guy) on BS perjury raps.
Yeah, but can you say all that in rhyme? Mister 'I'm so talented'? HMMMMMMMMMMMM??? LOL
