Today is the 4th of July 2005 – America’s Birthday which commemorates the Continental Congress adopting the Declaration of Independence on 4th July 1776.

President George W Bush commemorated the day by visiting West Virginia University Morgantown, West Virginia, he gave an address and afterward he greeted the crowd by signing autographs and shaking hands of military personnel.

It was announced today that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will visit tsunami-hit parts of Thailand next week.

On Saturday Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld acted as Grand Marshall at the Pepsi 400 NASCAR Race at Daytona.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

I always feel sorry for the animals at times like this. Bonfire night (Guy Fawkes) in the UK or more accurately the weekend before or after and then really right up to Christmas there always seems to be fireworks around.

They keep saying they are going to stop private people buying the really big and IMHO dangerous ones that have no business in being let off in our small gardens but somehow people still seem to get hold of them.

I love big public displays but private ones because of our space restrictions I think should only be small fireworks like roman candles, spinning wheels etc.

Camp is going well. It's very tiring but a lot of fun too. All the other counselors are really great. Sometimes the campers can be a little challenging. I had two the week before last who hadn't come with a buddy so we put them together and they fought the entire week. But anyway, I'm on break right now. The girls left Friday night and we have until Wednesday afternoon off. So I'm at home right now. I have one more full day and then I have to go back for the TEN DAY session. Our normal sessions are Sunday afternoon to Friday night.

Save it in your 'favorites' and you can summon it later when we need it during the Supreme Court nominations; to show libs that he spoke from his heart to common folk on a special day, in language they appreciated, and was resoundingly applauded and cheered by those in the heartland who appreciate him as a champion of the people!

Thanks for the DOSE, snugs!

What a GREAT FOURTH of JULY weekend!

I loved the Ford Theatre celebration tonight........especially the Debbie Allen dancers doing I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy! Fun stuff! And the President's speech this morning was AMAZING!

Praise GOD for this great country, and for our wonderful, courageous COMMANDER in CHIEF, and for his stunningly gorgeous LADY!

We have SO much to be thankful for!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ALL!!

Thanks for the links, as always . . . did you enjoy the tribute? I sure did. Is Geena Davis really a "good" person from the Holyweird tribe? I hope so--I like her.

P.S. Doesn't W. look great in a tux? ;-)

Great fireworks pix, Snugs! Just waiting for it to get dark here in CA so we can see the ones from the Great America theme park.

Imagine being on the plane flying by the fireworks! Wow!

I thought that was a very interesting photo of the plane imagine waking up as it was coming into land and seeing all the lights and flashes you would wonder what on earth was going on.
