They messed-up my radio buttons
July 1, 2005 | self / vanity

Posted on 07/01/2005 9:24:40 AM PDT by The Other Harry

I recently had my car worked on. It needed several things. It was due.

They did not give this away. It came to over $1000. I think they did a good job.

What I object to is that my radio buttons were all messed-up when I got it back.

Now, it may be that the fact that they had changed the battery played some part in this. Fair enough that far.

But...

There were other stations which were working just fine. Not ones which I ordinarily listen to.

So, I think they changed them.

I can see how the workers might want to use the radio while they are working on the car, but I do not think they should f' up the buttons.

The other thing which annoys me is the bill. I can't understand it. The woman at the dealership can't understand it either. She called me this morning wanting more money. I had no way to argue.

There were like 7 different procedures, and those got divided up into all kinds of different categories. It was -- and is -- unintelligeble.

A nice clean, bill would be good.

Working radio buttons would also be good.

They could have at least fixed the clock.

I hate it when they mess with the seat adjustments. I can never seem to get it "perfect" again.

:-)

changing your battery would leave no charge at all in the radio for 'memory' of the currently selected stations- it is not their fault.

But did they disconect your battery to do the work on your Auto?

Go out and disco your battery and see if your radio looses its settings again.

Go out and disco your battery and see if your radio looses its settings again.

But first program all the buttons exactly as you want them, then go take a shower.

I'm sure the shower will help clean the moose/cheese off of this thread.

Trash collection is every Tuesday in my 'hood. I find that without question, my trash recepticles (not to be confused with testicles) and left thrown all over the place after being emptied. Even a time or two they were left in the street, posing an inconvienience at best and a safety issue at worst for any passing vehicles.

I tried being real nice to one of em this past Tuesday morning, giving a cheery "Howya doin'!" and the guy just groaned without looking at me. I realize that someone in this line of work probably isn't cut out to be a Public Relations guru, but at least my taxes could fund a class for these folks to learn "How to Win Friends and Influence People" from the late, great Norman Vincent Peale.

A token gift next Christmas will probably do the trick. I gave my garbage guy an unwanted bottle of booze and he treats me real nice, even comes back if I have too much to fit in one can.

This is unrelated, but it is near to my heart.

I pick up local garbage when I am walking the dog. I also spray weeds. I figure we all have an obligation to keep our neighborhoods nice.

I joke a lot here, but this post is not one.

Money has worked here. Tips. They seem to notice.
