KY on Fox???
Posted on 06/29/2005 8:26:17 AM PDT by Scarchin
Okay - I'm a teacher on vacation and watching Fox news.
It's 11:00 in the morning and an ad comes on for "KY massage and personal lubricant." The husband lights up when the wife says "personal lubricant" and she says it again at the end of the ad and winks. There is a clear sexual tone to the ad.
Is it me or is this out of bounds?
Anyone else see it?
I'm calling FOX and I'll post what happens.

would you allow some stranger come to your door and talk to your children on any subject the stranger decided? Of course not, but you do it every time the TV is on. You should not be mad if you choose to be entertained by strangers and you compromise your values because you want that entertainment for free.
Dump your TV, and you will discover not only you have your childrens attention but you will have more time and energy. But the best reason is you will have a sense of contentment emerge in about 8 weeks when you realize that it is the commercials telling you that "you deserve such and such" Or " you will never be happy without productX"
Once you no longer are hearing those 100's of messages night and day you will be happy.

I don't let my nine year old watch the news. All the blood, guts, war, kidnappings, molesting and child killings, and you are worried about KY?
Ever heard of parental supervision? I don't even let my kids watch the cartoons on Nickelodeon.

Saw the same ad, wife asked me what was KY? Your wife asked you what KY was? I find that impossible to believe.

Some people have sex. Some women need something "extra" as well as men. Healthy Sex should not be painful. This stuff helps. Most people who watch FOX have sex. KY provides jobs, provides a safe product and is discrete in what it is used for. People won't know about the "extras" unless it's advertised.

How about talking about this to a 9 year old girl? I'm not laughing. Try starting out with what my parents always told me when I was about 9 years old and asked such questions . . . "Ask again in a few years. You're too young to know now."

UUgghhh..me too! I always feel like I've lost a few IQ points just watching them. If I see them too many more times, I'll probably start voting democrat! Eeeeekkkkk!

I think other posters have already suggested the best response. It's a lotion for grownups that makes them feel good.
Maybe, you should just turn off the tv and hand them a book to read.Or watch non-commercial tv.

I think those commercials are hilarious.

You couldn't talk to your own wife about a personal lubricant?

I do too. Much better than the Cialis and Levitra commercials.

I'm just noting the bigger picture. When I was 9 I didn't know what a condom was and had never heard the term "erectile dysfunction."
I'm sure you didn't mean to be as snide as you appeared when you asked me if I had heard of parental supervision. I guess I'm just wondering if it's too much to ask to live in a culture where I don't need to HYPER-SUPERVISE.

I use mozilla firefox, and I don't have that problem anymore. Used to happen on most threads that had photos posted when I used Explorer.

I still think "Cialis", "Levitra" and "Enzyte" would be cool names for Harry Potter characters. :o)
