Why don't you read the responses rather than just posting the talking points from DU and the DNC.

, I think the Iraq War is just taking place in Iraq.

Oh really? The information I have is that we're fighting this on several fronts, including on US soil. Just the other day I read that Homeland Security agents had arrested yet another group of insurgents in CA.

We don't need to allow them success in attacking our citizens in order to have 'the front' declared, you know.

Do you like country music? Let's have a sing along or in your case because you have trouble understanding words...just hum along with me..

I've got some ocean front property in Arizona
From my front porch you can see the sea
I've got some ocean front property in Arizona
An if you’ll buy that I’ll throw the golden gate in free

"France chose not to go to war because it believed that a) peaceful means of avoiding war had not been exhausted and b) Iraq didn't pose a threat. With the benefit of hindsight, it's pretty hard to argue with either position."

First off, anyone who uses France as a moral position doesn't know France.
But that is a different story.

Secondly, remember the surrender agreement Saddam signed in 1991?
What was the stated penalty for violating said surrender agreement?
How many times did Saddam violate the surrender agreement between 1992 and 2001?
And before you say the surrender agreement was signed 'under duress' I'll remind you that surrender agreements usually are signed under duress, otherwise it wouldn't be a surrender agreement.

You also forget that Saddam shelled out roughly 25,000 dollars to the families of Hezbullah and Hamas suicide bombers, and he had tried to pull an assassination on President George Herbert Walker Bush using dynamite stuffed into the flower boxes of the building he was at.
Failed because the guys planting the explosives were inept.

Now, Saddam wasn't a threat?
MMM-Hmmm.. I think you've just outed yourself.

Well, I see you have some reading to do.

World War II began officially in 1939, although skirmishes went on for a decade before, from China to Eastern Europe. No, we haven't lost as many people yet, but part of that is because our military and intelligence people are rooting out terrorists before they can act. In addition, we have not killed as many in Iraq and Afghanistan because we are using more precise weapons, so civilian casualties are greatly lessened.

The conflict in Iraq is a theater of the war on terror, just as Afghanistan The MOTIVES of the insurgents are to drive the Americans out, killing as many as they can in the process. They have repeatedly linked us with Israel and their hatred of Jews and Americans pervades their every statement. I don't need to question the motives of those who chop off people's heads and kill children as part of their strategy. It's plain to me that they are motivated by hatred. Your questioning if we can understand their motives is flat-out foolish.

No, the mass atrocities aren't on the same scale, because we PUT A STOP TO IT!! If the America had gone into Germany in 1939, perhaps all of those death camps wouldn't have been so efficient!

France is not an ally, and in fact, as far as I am concerned, is behaving just the way they did in WWII, when the Vichy French SHOT AT MY DAD AS HE WAS LANDING IN NORTH AFRICA. They were worthless allies then, and they are today. I consider them enemies.

Now, go play somewhere else. I am in no mood to deal with someone who doesn't understand the basic aspects of the War on Terror. Fortunately for you, you are protected by our military despite your opinions!

Signed,
Old Blood and Guts Marple

"1. We lost thousands of Americans in a sneak attack, much like Pearl Harbor.

But what about the millions of people of other nationalities who died in WWII? It was, as the name suggests, a WORLD war. This is the US and UK against a band of insurgents in a single country. "

Funny, as I said, countries around the world lost people in the Trade Center.
The part where you say "This is the US and UK against a band of insurgents in a single country" minimizes the deaths of those from other countries.
You ARE minimizing deaths here.

Today's war against insurgents TERRORISTS is actually a World War in that they and their attacks are NOT confined to just one nation.....forgot about terrorist attacks in Spain, Indonesia et al?...and it is NOT being fought by just 2 nations but 30 nations.

This is a new kind of war, but make no mistake about its being a WORLD WAR.

And if tehy DO remember it, they whine about the agreement having been signed under 'duress.'

It is as if they completely forgot what 'surrender' means.
