Dear Blood & Guts,
Never, never argue with an idiot. First they drag you down to their level, then they beat you with experience.
Sincerely,
Been There, Done That, No Patience to Go There Again.
How are the gardens looking? Happy, happy?
Love your new tag line. LOL!
Who's reports?
From the latest information from the Defense Department Iran and Syria are now sending terrorists into Iraq.
Don't think that Iran hasn't a vested interest in watching Iraq and how they do with a representative government. If Democracy thrives in Iraq, it will threaten the stranglehold Iran has on its own people.
As Iraqis watch innocent countrymen get blown to smithereens you can bet their resolve will be to root our the terrorists that are coming in from other countries, not the American Forces currently in Iraq, trying to establish a democratic government.
Do you really believe that the United States is at fault?
We are not the ones blowing up car bombs, chopping off heads, or executing civilians.
The gardens are happy this morning. Except for the 3 plants the dangnable rabbit ate off last night. The night before he's done a number on 2 others, so I rigged up a little fence around those 2 in order to attempt to save them. So he moved on and got 3 more of my annual salvias in retaliation.
Need to head to the shower. I have a couple of meetings to attend today. Home late afternoon.
If you can not see that the War on Terror is being fought on many fronts you have a very limited view of warfare. This is also a Shadow War fought in many countries.
>2. There are several theaters of operations.
Do not think this war is confined only to the mid-east and the US territories either. Do not forget the Bali bombing of Oct. 12, 2002. That was most definitely carried out by terrorists seeking to kill Americans. That fact is not forgotten by the Balinese, that it was done by moslem terrorists and it was done on Balinese soil and was against Americans.
Little known facts about that; it was carried out in two places, on Jalan Legian in Kuta and in front of the US Consulate in Denpasar. While mostly Balinese and Australians died, the terrorists themselves said they wanted to kill Americans and it was intended to happen on the anniversary of the tower bombing. The terrorists weren't quite ready on Sept. 12, so they put it off until Oct. 12.
The 12th, you say? Yes, over there the twin tower news came to us on the 12th. Most people were in bed when the planes hit on the evening of the 11th. We woke up to it on the 12th. Notice I've switched to first person at this point. I was in Indonesia at the time and the war became very personal. Since then I have been accosted by a moslem carrying a machine gun. He would not have done that if his moslem brothers had not emboldened him.

Could a hotel be built on the land owned by Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter? A new ruling by the Supreme Court which was supported by Justice Souter himself itself might allow it. A private developer is seeking to use this very law to build a hotel on Souter's land.
Justice Souter's vote in the "Kelo vs. City of New London" decision allows city governments to take land from one private owner and give it to another if the government will generate greater tax revenue or other economic benefits when the land is developed by the new owner. On Monday June 27, Logan Darrow Clements, faxed a request to Chip Meany the code enforcement officer of the Towne of Weare, New Hampshire seeking to start the application process to build a hotel on 34 Cilley Hill Road. This is the present location of Mr. Souter's home.
Clements, CEO of Freestar Media, LLC, points out that the City of Weare will certainly gain greater tax revenue and economic benefits with a hotel on 34 Cilley Hill Road than allowing Mr. Souter to own the land.
The proposed development, called "The Lost Liberty Hotel" will feature the "Just Desserts Café" and include a museum, open to the public, featuring a permanent exhibit on the loss of freedom in America. Instead of a Gideon's Bible each guest will receive a free copy of Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged."
Clements indicated that the hotel must be built on this particular piece of land because it is a unique site being the home of someone largely responsible for destroying property rights for all Americans.
"This is not a prank" said Clements, "The Towne of Weare has five people on the Board of Selectmen. If three of them vote to use the power of eminent domain to take this land from Mr. Souter we can begin our hotel development.
LOL, I love your tag line too.
"No I'm not."
Really?
You said "Iraq didn't pose a threat. With the benefit of hindsight, it's pretty hard to argue with either position."
If Zarqawi was iin Iraq before we got there, and he is an Al-Qeada member, then what does that mean?
Wouldn't turn about be fair play? I would LOVE to see this actually happen.
LOL, nice try.
You specifically mentioend France as if they were a shining example of morality.
I just mentioned somehing that goes counter to your apparent claim.
And now you want to try to dance to the side.
You are amusing.
Say, have we met before?
"That's not my position at all."
Really?
"It was, as the name suggests, a WORLD war. This is the US and UK against a band of insurgents in a single country. " -post 64, where you minimized the deaths of other countries who lost people in the WTC on 9/11.
You said there taht it isn't 'global'.
It is.
Wanna try again?
That you'll have to look for yourself.
I'm sure that others comparing what you said in 110 with what you said in 64 will see it.
I think that as time passes and more historians examine the papers of the first tower bombing and the OKC bombing and the many other acts of terror throughout the world that it will be seen that these were all preludes to 9/11. Wars rarely start with just one incident. There were preludes to the War of Northern Aggression, there were preludes to the US War for Independence, to WWI and to WWII. But they are all part of the war. This war is being fought in the US, Afghanistan, Iran, Indonesia, Singapore, England, Iran, Israel and everywhere there have been acts of terror or acts thwarted terror. Sometimes, the terror acts have been averted such as Qudaffi giving up his arsenal , or offensive such as the very thorough ransacking of my luggage in Singapore and Ja[an. There the terrorists find a hard target and avoid it. A battle won! To say it isn't a global war negates the acts that are being taken around the world to make things difficult for the terrorists. It is most definitely global.
I would like to invest in that hotel. Where can we get a prospectus?
