Many Freepers grew up in what they considered to be the golden age of Rock concerts. Of course, it may have had more to do with the fact that we were young and fanatical about the music in our youth. These days, ol Pissant prefers the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Military Band music and Jazz, but I have some very fond memories of the craziness of my Rock concert yesteryears. Im quite sure many of you have some concert stories that rival and surpass mine. So this thread is the place to share!
Following are 2 concert experiences that left a permanent scar on me! ;o)
My first ever rock concert was AC/DC in 1981. I fell asleep (nope ... not drug-induced). ;o)
I totally understand your appreciation of Zep. They were iconic, to say the least. Never could handle Van Halen though. However, if Dasher will go backstage with me, I'd consider seeing them! ;o)
Hey, one of my first concerts was the Beach Boys. I still love them today! ;o)
B-52s would be loads of fun!!
I did not enjoy REM when I finally saw them in the early 1990s. Despite that, I still like their 1st few records!
My wife is in love with Chris Issak too! ;o)
LOVE Van Halen!
But also love Zep.
And used to LOVE Bruce - before he thought he was smarter than I am and should tell me how to vote.
Chris Isaak has an amazingly sultry voice.
And an interesting nose - I love interesting noses. (isn't that weird!?)
Hubba....
They have medicine for that now! ;o)
He's quite the ladies man! But I like his music. The forelorn love songs.
I love his wale....
OhhhhAAAAAAAAHHHHHohhhhhhhh....
purrrrrrrrr
1978 Houston the morning after a Johnny Winter concert, I saw "the blue eyed soul king" and and roadie and two groupies passed out in an old cadillac(doors wide open) in a vacant lot at 7:30 in the morning.
Quite a scary sight
Yeah, I'm sure they could. ;-)
I bet it was the same tour that I saw them on. I was blown away!
That is what I hear! ;o)
Wow. The quintessential fly by night 1980s bands! LOL
Do you have any extra?
Donna Summer, huh? She was a huge star then too. But I'm thinking you wouldn't have gone except for the babe you landed! ;o)
And yes, you are showing your age. You sound about as old as me!
Jethro Tull is made of musicians, which separates it from some other rock bands. Ian Anderson is a great "front man" for their type of music.
Their new stuff is amazing....I just can't believe we've all gotten so old. :-(
There seems to be quite a few Rush fans here on FR. They've never floated my boat, but I would have liked to see them live!
Of course. And I always share with you! ;o)
