Your Best Memories of a Rock Concert (vanity)
Few Remaining Brain Cells | 6/28/05 | Pissant

Posted on 06/28/2005 3:16:46 PM PDT by pissant

Many Freepers grew up in what they considered to be the golden age of Rock concerts. Of course, it may have had more to do with the fact that we were young and fanatical about the music in our youth. These days, ‘ol Pissant prefers the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Military Band music and Jazz, but I have some very fond memories of the craziness of my Rock concert yesteryears. I’m quite sure many of you have some concert stories that rival and surpass mine. So this thread is the place to share!

Following are 2 concert experiences that left a permanent scar on me! ;o)

I'm sorry, sir. After analyzing your portfolio, we've come to the conclusion that you are financially over-extended and cannot afford our fees. ;-)

Other notable concerts are Pere Ubu, The Feelies, The Jam, The Police, XTC, Beta Band.

My ticket stub collection now spans four decades!

Heheheh.

I'm happily married to Mr. Big Guy and Rusty 99.

Let's see... best concerts ever. After much soul searching, I have come up with this list of the ten greatest gigs I've ever seen.

1) Peter Murphy every time I've seen him play since 1988, including the Bauhaus reunion show.
2) Billy Idol, Hollywood Sportatorium, Hollywood, FL 1987.
3) Mojo Nixon, The Button South, Hallendale Beach 1988.
4) Nine Inch Nails, The Ritz Ballroom, Tampa, 1991.
5) Front 242 and Stabbing Westward, The Ritz, Tampa, 1993.
6) Paul Kelly, Club Passim, Harvard Square, 1998.
7) Richard Thompson, Harbor Lights, Boston 1998.
8) Nile Rodgers and Chic, Mohegan Sun Casino, CT. 2001.
9) KISS, St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa, 2003.
10) Judas Priest, Ford Amphitheater, Tampa, 2005.
