Zotted By Bush...

I just want to know something. Does anyone out there feel like they got cheated by voting for G.W.? I voted for the guy twice and feel like I got screwed.

I want a plan for Iraq, not just unlimited deployments with no end in sight. I want a REAL border policy, like the one Mexico has for IT'S southern border. And yesterday's Supreme Court ruling was the final straw for me.

G.W. can't do much about the Supreme Court's ruling, but he can make recess appointments and at least "persuade" the RINO's to back off for the good of the people. If he wants to. I don't think that he will make ANY recess appointments or thwart the RINO's attempts to subvert Conservative dominance.

I was under the impression that he was a uniter and not a divider. He's dividing his own party in so many ways, and before you call me a troll check out the SCOTUS thread at the top of the News/Activism page.

And this "culture of ownership" apparently belongs to the millionaire developers, foreign nationals who outbid US citizens on homes, and China. I think that they bought UNOCAL today.

I'm not a Democrat. Never. I want a REAL Conservative in office after this guy. That would be a nice shot of penicilin for America.

I'm not happy with everything that Bush does, but consider how close we came to having these two jokes as President. Still feel cheated?

Press to Ronald Reagan: "What's your plan for the Cold War?"

Reagan: "Here's my plan: We win, they lose."

You would not be complaining like this if it were not for FR and the internet.

Reagan did just as many bad things, but the right was kept in the dark because we didn't have the internet to highlight perceived misdeeds like we do now.

The president is the president of all Americans, not just some. Bush has done things worth complaining about, such as amnesty and CFR, but much of the complaints are exaggerated and unwarranted, and they would not have occurred in a non-internet era.

""When McCain and Chaffee are considered Conservative"

Who considers Chaffee conservative???

People here seem to forget the following RINOS who were as bad if not worse than the current crop:

Lowell Wicker
Bob Packwood
Mark Mansfield
Chuck Percy

As for the SOCTUS ruling, that should be delt with on the state level not the federal one. No where did the SCOTUS say that legislatures couldnt prohibit the seizing of land for private use. The ycan.

Read the corner today on NRO, they gave some good examplees of voters who've thrown out politicans for eminent domain abuse.

Fact is the GOP is more conservative today than at anytime between 1960 to 1980, and is no less conservative than it was in the 1980s

From my standpoint there is no perfect President.
Would I like the border secured and a fence built, would I like the budget balanced, sure. Is GW a bad President, did we get screwed? No way. In fact GW is one of the better ones we have had since Reagan IMHO. Is he perfect, not at all.

Short answer, no.

Just take a look at the extreme dissatisfaction with RWR inside the party at this point in his second term. And that didn't turn out too badly. Six months is barely enough time to catch one's breath and deal with the inevitable media backlash because they didn't win.

Patience, strength, rebuilding momentum. I may be a little pollyannaish, but if Rove's little statement was all it took to send them over the edge, we're doing ok.

G.W. can't do much about the Supreme Court's ruling

No. But he could use the bully pulpit and take a stand on the issue. For that matter, he could do the same with any conservative issue; publiv education -vs- homeschooling, government growth, abortion, etc. He could veto a pork-laden spending bill or pronounce his conservative stand for or against, well... anything. But, after five years, I won't hold my breath waiting for this dream scenario. We've been had.

What do you expect a Repub Senator or Congress Critter to say about the Supreme's decision? They cannot overturn it, leave that one alone.
If I remember correctly, McCain was the main challenger in 2000, would you want him as POTUS now that his true colors have emerged?
Bush won his 2nd Term, IMHO, for taking on the GWOT, not backing down when the Media assailed him, Values, and JF'nK was no way going to be POTUS.

You don`t think Congressmen and Senators play a roll? I am more upset with the Legislature than President Bush.

The Iraq issue is now up to the Iraqis. Once they get control of their country our men and women in the military can start coming home. And that is slowly happening.

I wish it were faster, but we cannot start squealing like Ted Kennedys because we don`t like the way things have worked out so far. Give it time, it will all come toegether.

This will not end with Iraq either...... So look at the big picture and be glad we have a President with the guts to see this through.

As for the Mexican border, that is one issue I think the President is dropping the ball on. Just can`t figure that one out. But he never promised to address that issue in the way you or me would like.

No actually you are more like like a whining back seat driver, IMO.

I don"t feel cheated, but for the supremes to do what they did to our property rights, and for Bush to be silent, is unforgivable.

I read how you're for private property, but so are some other dems I talked to about the decision. Now I'll call you a troll.

Just because the Dems claim there isn't a plan doesn't mean there isn't one. Do you really think War Plans are unclassified? Would it be wise to allow Tikrit Teddy to look at it, go off half cocked then have the contents all over Al Jazeera the next day?

By the way, speaking of endless deployments, we kept 45, 000 in the Gulf enforcing sanctions against Iraq for from 92-2003. We've kept 35K in South Korea for a half century.

Whoa, buddy! Pick your battles!
So your angry about the war- I guess will have to agree to disagree on how to fight wars

Your mad about immigration - As I said, pick your battles. At least we don't have McCain-Kerry giving AMENESTY to illegals

Bush doesn't control the supreme courts. Liberals appointed by anti-bushes made this horrid ruling

Bush also can't control who buys houses. The opposite of an ownership society is wealth redistributing and ultimate taxation, not conservative ideals!
