Has the liberal bloc of the supreme court inflicted it's final blow?

Posted on 06/23/2005 6:07:40 PM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

What are your words/thoughts on the loss of your private property rights?

I haven't had this feeling since 9/11, and right now the thought of leaving the country seriously sounds like a good idea.

How........ is there possibly a fix for this?

"This applies at the local, state and federal level. Fix that, and the judge situation will begin to fix itself."

I always think this is true of school boards too. They are most often elected.

^^^^^^^^^^ I hope this will awaken more people to the communist agenda disguised as liberalism, but I'm not sure it will.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yes, australia would be one. I'd also consider Japan.

^^^^^^^^^^^^This ruling might just be the awakening for the fence sitters on the dangers of Liberalism and its natural attraction to Marxism.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Exactly. Check it out.

Interesting twist. I like it.

I don't live in a blue state, so maybe I don't have so much to fear. Most initiatives here would go similar to what McClintock would propose.

^^^^^^^^^^^I don't understand how you do not define the elected officials who are actually stealing the land as villians.^^^^^^^^^^^^

Since when are SCOTUS members elected?

^^^^^^^^^^^if a thug holds you up and gunpoint and steals your property, and then a judge lets him off, who's the primary villian?^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

More accurately, what if a thug holds you up while somebody else steals your property?

The SCOTUS, just like the thug(in this instance) is the enabler. But not the actual thief. Furthermore, Pfizer is the thief not the politician.

I do understand what you're saying, and I agree. But the judges here are villain #1. They are in a position where they are (directly)shielded from the ballot box, and they just told the thief he is allowed to steal.

And even if they changed all the laws and brought in communism, America would still be the best country in the world, because of the people.

I disagree. America is who she is primarily because of her freedom.

You introduce communism(which is the removal of freedom) and americans quite simply are no longer americans. That's it.

It just didn't occur to anyone in Connecticut

Now that they're awake, the people in Connecticut need to pressure lawmakers there to close this loophole, and amend the Connecticut state consitutution if necessary.

I sense that the vast majority of FReepers don't know what the eminent domain laws are in their individual states. They need to find out. This is a great opportunity for local activism to fix the problem.

Bluto: LET'S DO IT!!

All elections are local.

I suggest to those who are upset over this decision that you attend your local city council meeting. Most city councils have an opportunity for the public to address the members with items of concern to them. Prepare a short statement, mention this vote, then ask the council members to consider the need to take our private property. The ask them to pass a resolution vowing that eminent domain would be used only for specific defined benefits to the public: schools, roads, parks, for example. Specifically demand that this power not be used simply for financial benefits.

This country is dying. This ruling makes me physically ill.

The second amendment was mentioned........ I don't see any other answer. --

Agreed. It's there for a reason. This is a good reason.

Evil is in the air, and so is fear. Witness the recent action from conservatives after durbin's words. ---- Washington changes them big time.

Boy, are you right. This country, as The Founders created it, is on it's death bed. Evil is in the air.

And the NON-REACTION to Durbin's treachery is horrendous!

For the first time in a while, I'm truly shocked.

Me too. This decision should be a signal to everyone that this country is nearly finished.

CNN's poll on the Lou Dobbs Show was 99% AGAINST this ruling. At last we've found something that everyone in the country agrees on. Bring out the tar and feathers!

"tar and feathers" ?

How about a tree and a lot of strong rope?

^^^^^^^^^^^^This country, as The Founders created it, is on it's death bed.^^^^^^^^^^^^

Until this ruling, I was always optimistic. Now all of that has changed.

^^^^^^^^Evil is in the air.^^^^^^^^^^^

Agreed. It seems like instead of us working to kill it the cloud is growing and is covering alot more than just DC now.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ And the NON-REACTION to Durbin's treachery is horrendous!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If Lincoln were president durbin would've been hanged.

I disagree.

If Europe would have the freedom that we enjoy here, I don't think that they would change. Eventually they would change, but in a wrong way. They would become more evil, more perverse, more hostile. You cannot erase their history, their mentality, and their culture by simply introducing a new law.

Remember, in Europe, you can travel 7 hours in one direction and you will go through 2 different countries where they speak completely different languages. Europeans have never been able to realize what it is like to have unity, because of the language barriers. Imagine what America would be like if each state spoke a different language, and each state had its own different agenda and history and culture. This country would be a mess. We would feel isolated, and we would be hostile toward each other. It would affect our entire way of life and history.

America is what it is because of its people. In the beginning, only the most determined, the most upset, and the most freedom-thirsty people got on the boat to come to America. And we can thank them what we are today.

The good laws which protect our freedoms are the result of smart, Godly men who had come to America for a reason. It all started with the right people at the right place. Then, those people wrote the Constitution and the laws. The Europeans could write a Consitution like ours, but they can't because they don't have those kind of people that we had. We had the right mix of people in the beginning. They don't have that.

Most of the USSC Justices tend toward the elderly and probably don't have enough weight to break their neckbones in a hanging.

That's why you have to be prepared for a more advanced method. Odds are the gurney at Terre Haute will serve just fine ~ once these people are tried and convicted of course ~ wouldn't want to kill someone without a trial you know. After all, I'm not a judge.
