Infineon?

I am personally offended.

Somewhere in my archives, I have the original worksheet on which I laid out and computed the geometry for Sears Point Raceway.
Having spent the better part of three years designing and helping build it (with hand-held calculators; we did not yet have computers for this sort of thing), I'm not about to start calling it by a made up name.

Welcome to Sears Point Raceway.

One of the two NASCAR races I can bear watch every year.

But who am I to criticize NASCAR when my favorite form of racing stole hundreds of dollars from me.

At least Moto GP is on this weekend, those guys never disappoint.

One of the two NASCAR races I can bear watch every year.

Sadly, in my opinion, if you asked most NASCAR Team Owners, Crew Chiefs, and Drivers which races to eliminate from the current schedule, Watkins Glen & Sears Point would probably top the list. The rationale is that it costs a disproportionate amount of money to prepare a car & backup car for those tracks. After you've bitten that bullet, you hand the car off to a driver who really can't show the car to its best advantage because he just doesn't get that much wheel-time on a road-course.

I will be passing on this weekend's Nascar race. I prefer the 190-200mph races and not the 2 road races.

So who's hot......... Smoke? Gordon? Martin? Can we trust Robby Gordon as a pick? He's hot here, but what about his car/team?

200??

I’ll believe 190mph, but those spec taxi cabs haven’t gone 200mph since Elliott’s ’84 Thunderbird.

Well as a Gordon fan I sure hope he pulls out a repectable race. He has traditionally done well on road courses.

I also hope Earnhardt can get it going, he is a nice guy even if he did learn how to cheat at Seniors feet :) What the heck is with that team swap on those two DEI teams anyway. Somehow a race to the cup without Earnhardt and Gordon just wouldnt feel right.

I know what you mean. I would still watch the last 10 races but without as much passion.

At least we have FoxSports Who's sexier? Earnhardt or Gordon? to look forward to this Sunday. Last I viewed, they both had 50% of the vote.

I guess you're right about that. We don't really hit the 200MPH mark much/if at all anymore.

Well, the race is only 350 km (just under 217.5 miles), and in testing, Crash bested the track record.

They no longer average 200 (haven't since they choked on the restrictor plates at Daytona and Talladega), but they'll still hit better than 200 on the straights at places like Pocono, Michigan, California, Charlott...er, Lowe's, and Texas.

Do we want one for Milwaukee (the rain forecast is deteriorating for both Friday and Saturday; now it's a 50% chance of strong storms Friday/Friday night with highs well above 90 and temps staying in the 80s through pretty much the whole race; and 40% chance of storms Saturday/Saturday night but cooler temps-low 80s for a high).
