I’ll believe 190mph, but those spec taxi cabs haven’t gone 200mph since Elliott’s ’84 Thunderbird.

I guess you're right about that. We don't really hit the 200MPH mark much/if at all anymore.

They no longer average 200 (haven't since they choked on the restrictor plates at Daytona and Talladega), but they'll still hit better than 200 on the straights at places like Pocono, Michigan, California, Charlott...er, Lowe's, and Texas.

Those cars were hitting 200 on the backstretch at Michigan last week, and they hit that speed at a number of tracks in the season.

Atlanta, Texas, Charlotte, Daytona, and Talladega, to name a few.

Now, if you're talking about average speed, then that is a different story altogether.
