Morgantown, W.Va. -- The U.S. Forest Service has turned dozens of campers away from a Rainbow Family gathering in the Monongahela National Forest, saying the counterculture group has not signed a group-use permit for the event.
Although the gathering does not officially begin until June 25, campers have already begun streaming into West Virginia. The Rainbows estimate as many as 17,000 people could attend the event.
On Wednesday, a team of Forest Service officers began turning campers away, citing a noncommercial use permit for the park that is required for groups of 75 or more.

Doon't forget, who's going to pay the bill for the wild animal therapy? And who's going to pay for the Bio cleanup from those nasty rainbowers? I think they should not be allowed to camp together for disease control.
They need Eric Cartman of "South Park" on the case:
For the past several days I've been... noticing a steep rise in the number of hippies coming to town. [puts a laptop on the table and turns it on] At first I thought maybe it was just a coincidence. [pulls a projector towards the laptop] Then I saw this... [connects the projector to the laptop, and the projector turns on. Everyone then looks at the screen. Cartman goes to it and points a few things out] Three new drum circles have sprouted up here, here, and here. They're all growing in diameter, at a rate of two hippies per hour. What this means... is that the hippies are conglomerating. They'er thriving, if you will. I think that they're setting up for a... [close-up]. hippie music festival.

I saw a small group of these people once milling around outside a grocery store in northern WI. They claim to live off the land up there.
There was this foul stench as I passed them walking in. It smelled like old clothes and/or body odor and urine. They were very unkempt. Nasty!

Every few years there are outbreaks of disease assoicated with unsanitary conditions at these rainbow events.
One year I recall a lot of them came down with Giardia from unclean water. Another year it was something else a lot of them contracted from walking around barefoot and tracking feces all over the place.
