Now that we have heard many of your WORST date stories, let's turn the tables and tell about the BEST dates.
I usually give them as wedding presents.
;-)
It definitely does make things sparkly.
We actually met on FR and at a FReep event.
I'll let her tell ya (tomorrow). She's outta town today.
We'll have to give ya a pet name.
Tiggles is already taken...
40?
... ducking...
LOL thanks for thinking of me :D
Not quite but getting there :-)
I don't need one, if you know what I mean. I test drove before I bought.
the scene: Restaurant at Pier 88, Fort Lauderdale
A blind date set up by a mutual friend.
The woman who I had never seen walks in the restaurant, she is absolutely gorgeous.
Dinner conversation:
Me: I've noticed you are fidgeting around in your chair quite a bit.
Her: Ummm...well yes (a blush comes over her face), I just had my **** pierced this morning and I am a bit uncomfortable.
Me: (Jaw drops down to table) I am at a loss for words.
Her: Let's finish dinner, have a drink and head to your hotel room.
Yikes..........twas a memorable night.
I really don't even know you. I don't know why this makes me so happy, but it sure does!!!!!
Ahhh geez,
I'm getting all teary here!
I'm so happy for guys!
Why was she sitting on her ear?
oh... OH... nevermind.
Hehehehe...here's some bad ones that I remember...
"Hey there, how would you like to wear those clothes to work tomorrow?"
"When you walked in the door, I damn near grew a third leg."
"You like Pop Tarts? Because that's what we're having for breakfast tomorrow."
(Disclaimer...I have never actually used any of the above in my life when I was single.)
The inevitable "Why?" is answered with "Because I'd like to make you breakfast tomorrow."
That was my first date with the love of my life. Unfortunately she left me while I was serving in Belgium for a hippy dude (at least that's what I say to myself) and destiny was interrupted......
Until the next love of my life......
I invited my future wife to the Reno Air Races in 2001. I bought the box seats for her, my future BOL and some other friends and was anxious to see her after 20+ years. We had known each other since grade school, her brother was my best friend. She went to college and I went into the Air Force so we lost track of each other. We "found" each other again when her father died and my mom told me about it.
Well, 9/11 cancelled the races and since we all had hotels rooms we spent 3 days driving around Reno/Tahoe seeing the sights. We gambled, played golf, and just really had a great time. We had all stayed because the FAA restrictions were rumored to be lifted every day (stand by to stand by!)
Fours days, great weather, great friends, it was all GREAT even with the bad news that was surrounding the country at the time.
Since we missed 2001 I invited her back to Reno 2002. We became more involved, she was getting to like airplanes (WooHoo!!). I proposed in September 2003 (The Bear is Back!) Married September 4, 2004 (The Bear Wins) and we'll be back in 2005 for an anniversay win (Go Bear).
It's funny how my whole life revolves around September.
Thanks!
How about this one, kind of continues the earlier "I like apples..." theme.
When you see a cute bartender ask her if she likes apples. If she says yes, you say "I think I'll bend you over the bar and 'Expletive deleted' from behind. How do you like them apples."
Almost always gets a laugh. Almost.
And my answer would have been, "Sure. Be over around 11:00, and bring coffee."
Funny - mine too!
LOL!!!
I remember Reno 2001 and the waiting game. What a nightmare. We had to leave the planes there for so long.
Well, I'll see you in September!
;-)
