Actually, it's not too bad. It's dropping a few frames this afternoon, but that might be due to afternoon net traffic.
It's as smooth as silk on my G5. H.264 movie trailers are very impressive at 720. Haven't tried 1080.

1.8 PIV minimum for 640x480 H.264 videos!
Boy is that slow.

Not nearly that bad. Later this evening, we'll see what it can do. I'm on a 1.5 - 3.0 Mbps DSL connection, and it's very smooth on my G5.

I've got a 2.4 P4 w/ 1GB RAM. The 720 trailers are dropping a few frames, but not too bad.

Or...you could just download
Quicktime Alternative v1.47 It's ready now and works great. Plus it isn't as pervasive or annoying as Apple's Quicktime.

a gig of ram. Not bad, I downloaded a download accelorator a while ago, and it stopped working so I got rid of it, but now when I try to download something the screen goes grey and says it's not working.

Of course, it doesn't handle H.264 yet. That's the latest thing that QT7 gives you. Very nice looking video.

Whatever you're willing to talk about.
I built this computer, and it's a 2.4 P4, 1GB RAM, running WinXP Pro.
Sitting next to me, I also have a dual 2GHz G5 with 4GB RAM that I use for video editing with Final Cut Pro 5, running under Mac OS X v10.4.1.

I've got a Compaq Presario R3200. Athlon 3000 Processor with 1.6 Ghz, 512 RAM, 60 GB hard drive, Windows XP Home SP2. nVidia 32 MB graphics card. 14.6 inch screen. Wireless 802.11 capabilites. 3 USB 2.0 ports. UBL speakers. Not bad, not great. Decent. The price was great. Got it in February for about 700 bucks plus tax. Back then a computer like mine was running around 1000. It's a laptop, but not all that portable. The batter is fine, about three hours, but it's kinda heavy. Centrino is the way to go.
Do you really have 4 gigs of ram? You are chatting with a jealous freeper. Eight times what I've got. You could do some serious gaming with that. I'd like to get XP Media, but I don't want it nearly bad enough to shell out 120 dollars, or whatever they're asking for it at the stores. Do do any gaming? If so what.

As I said, that's my video editing system. I use 4GB of RAM for all the apps I need to support that, and a bunch of overhead. It's a PowerMac G5, and no I don't do gaming. Never saw the point, but that's just my opinion.

This QuickTime rocks the house. I have always liked QuickTime, but it gets better and better.

Yes, very nice pix. But my G5 has a lot more horsepower than my WinXP box, so I usually play there for QT media.
