The 80's were my 20s, too. But I thought Penny Loafers made their debut in the 50's. It was Docksiders and aligator logoed Izod polo shirts with the collar turned up that made the preppy look.
Egads. Preppies. I went to an exclusive school and had to beat the crap out of a few preppies. Took their women too!
