I'm waiting to see how long it takes for someone to start the ridicule. I believe you saw what you saw.
Others in here are less flexible, if you know what I mean.

When I used to kayak the coastal islands islands around Pennobscott Bay or further up by Jonesport, when we'd set up tents we'd frequently saw strange things in the sky.
I remember wathcing one the last time, just a bright light in the sky to the north, hung there for about 15 minutes or so before moving off to the north.

A few questions that occur to me to ask you:
- For how long did you observe the object?
- How large do you think it was?
- How high do you think it was?
- For how long did it hover in one spot?
- When it moved, was the acceleration sudden, or did it appear to build up speed?
- Did it disappear over the horizon? Upwards? Fade away?
- Were intoxicating substances involved? (smile)

Those two "shooting stars" may be foul spirits hurled to earth. Oh wait, Snowe and Collins have already landed.
