You probably should go see an internal medicine doc. They're like a general practitioner, but they only see adults...general practitioners are like the old family practice doctors...they see adults, kids, deliver babies, all that stuff.
Internal Medicine physicians see only adults and deal with adult illnesses and don't mess around with things like "well-baby" appointments and school physicals.

If the solution ends up being a diuretic, could he prescribe that? Or would I be sent to a specialist? What I fear, pocketbook-wise, is the whole litany of tests they are going to want to run to exclude all the major organ failures. That's financial death by a thousand paper cuts. I think our deductible is at $2,000 (we just did all this too, and decided to go with a minimal plan) and even after that, it's only 80-20. We just can't afford to run the gamut of possibilities. I wish I hadn't brought it up at all.... poor ecurbh has been stressing out as it is.
