The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

When ecurbh and I were online courtin' we'd go play backgammon, because it had the private chat space...That's what Freepmail is for!

Anyone cut themselves on their ShootMoot knife yet? I did.
Reached into my purse to look at it while I was sitting on a bench at the bus stop (in the mall parking lot) waiting for Steve to get off the bus after dropping off the rental car. Didn't think I should pull it completely out of my purse, so I tried to pull it out while it was still in my purse. Put my pointer finger on one side and my thumb on the other side at the top of the sheath and pulled. The knife slide out and sliced open my thumb.
Oops! I won't do THAT again! I'll keep my fingers way low of the top of the sheath!

I don't want to sound like a snob, but I gotta say, so much time went by I thought I had the wrong name.

I actually forgot to bring any or my cleaning suppies anyway. Plus I figured we would not have the time. Really we did not dirty them up that bad. The number of rounds fired per gun was fairly low.

Had a fun softball game tonight. They tied us up in the bottom of the last inning and we smoked them in the extra inning. The season is starting to look pretty good for us.

In case I find this small scale meat chicken raising thing to be do-able.It wouldn't be for me... I'd end up putting them on heart pills and building them very small wheelchairs.

When ecurbh and I were online courtin' we'd go play backgammon, because it had the private chat space...Hence 'round here, "backgammon" is now a euphemism for other activities...

Work game?
Softball is too fun. Last time I played was in a church league. Dad kept me on the bench because all of the players were lousy but I was the only one he could offend ;-)

I'm glad you find it of interest!
I have a tendency to get swept up in something and obsess on it for a bit. Besides having an extremely indulgent husband, I have very courteous and polite friends who at least give the appearance of interest!
My obsessions are always harmless and sometimes have turned out quite brilliantly! Like my hens. And hopefully my VW!

Raw shrimp probably doesn't smell as nice as Hoppe's No. 9, though.
It was sooooo worth it, though! Mmmm...
