The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I believe I am the race of men. That's what my urologist told me: "Good God man!"

*Whistling*
I've never had a chance to be an evil little sister before. My tormenting has been limited to the older sister varieties.

I expected something... else. But what's bothersome about it is the implied license to cheat. If they weren't stuffing ballot boxes before, they now know they can, and there is no way to challenge it. The law says so.

To: Ramius; All
Same thing.
My grandfather had some biopsies done today. No chemo treatment yet because they decided to hold off and see what type of cancer they are dealing with.
He's heavily sedated because he's intubated and they don't want him trying to pull THAT out, like he did with the IV and catheter.
*sigh*
Parents walked in and the kids are riled up, so I have to go.
I'll be back if I can.

Yup, Rose and I met online, in the days before the Internet... back then she was a San Antonio gal, and I was living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We compromised and met up in Austin:

So that compromise saved you the drive all the way from Austin to San Antonio?

Oh, depending on which route one takes, the trip is anywhere from 1530 to 1580 miles, or so.
