Agreed.
Maybe Rick needs to let us know how widespread he wants us to take this, then we can go from there.
I'd think that posting a thread would definitely increase donations - albeit temporarily.
More knife requests are coming in every day, so I don't think it would hurt anything to have a few more requests if it means we'd have more donations.
It would be nice to have a thread once we have a button of some kind. That way, folks know where to go when they want to donate.
Threads have a short shelf-life and it would be a shame to have folks willing to give, but not able to find the thread in a search 2 months after it's posted.
Know what I mean, Vern?
Morning g'nad - have you been fertilizing them? uhh, let me rephrase that. Have you been using a 'miracle grow' type product. We try use it every week to ten days. The cannas seem to need their daily drink of water.
I'm not a fan of night storms. They seem a lot scarier when you can't see what's coming.
They already have rock on the lower part of the berm. And they're planning to build up the berm more on the upper side.
I'm thinking bamboo would make a nice accent plant.
Thing is, the previous nayber (Hyacinth) spent thousands of dollars landscaping the back yard and NEVER had the water problems these naybers do.
They've managed to let all the landscaping become overgrown and to kill all the grass.
Runnoff from my property didn't cause that.
I planted the cannas with some pretty strong fertilizer and I've been using Miracle Grow on a regular basis when I water. So mine are coming up okay this year.
There are other cannas around here that are up and blooming. But I'm thinking they must've stayed in the ground year round. Plus they probably get better sunlight.
I have ~got~ to get some more trees taken out.
'Course then they naybers will whine about more runnoff...
Okay, I gotta get to work.
I want the house to look nice and clean for next weekend when HGTV comes to tell me I've won the $100,000 backyard makeover...
Wouldn't that be nice!
See you later, Corin!
Corin, okay, since it's up to the naybers to get their 'poop in a group', tell 'em to get cracking - They're burning daylight. Good fences or 'bamboo' helps makes good naybers.
Well, Any button we get would link to the current thread, and our threads could have something even more clear at the top. I think our thread headers should have that regardless...
ecurbh and I are also talking about cleaning up the HH blog site to really showcase what we are doing. He's ordered an upgrade to our webhosting to allow more features.
But if you look at the page, there's old stuff that needs to go (moots and flat frodo need to go away - somewhere else, the older projects like the Renegade Chaplain stuff need to be archived to a different place, and all troop feedback needs to be blogged. Who we are and what we do needs to be simplified and made clear on the site.

That's true.
Although, it saddens me a wee bit to have our history put away in a back room.
But, priorities are priorities.
Well, we're off, BloodCenter been calling and I'm due for my leeching and letting. Got some gift certificates to redeem (Plaza merchants ass'n). LSA might use 'em to pick up some cooking gear. Since we're going to town, might as well get a store-bought lunch.
SYL
Hasta luego, osage!
Well, right now, we need to get ready to go meet up with Penny... ;~D
Tell her "hi" from me.
I'm gonna scrounge around for something to eat here.
See ya later!
And had a ruh roh minute with regards to the other naybers. The rain we got ~did~ wash some dirt out of thedriveway and down thru my flowers towards their yard. Just like they said.
'Course that rain was diverted by the top of their berm.
Just means I gotta get the Sable moved asap and get some gravel in here (once I get the landscape timbers replaced).
So...why am I sitting here?
And those of us with blogs need to make sure we link to The Hobbit Hole site.
To bleach, perchance to clean...
Once the Freepathon is over, you really ought to get permission to start a seperate thread just to let people know what's going on, so it doesn't get tangled up with the Hobbit Hole chattiness. I'll bet it'd be a hit.
Hullo - No - it's not a space issue, it's an organization issue. It just needs to be seperated from the knife stuff.
