The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's about six hours from Pennsylvania to New York. I've never driven out of state by myself so I'll find out if I can drive and read a map at the same time *lol*

She must be a really bad shot ;~DLet's leave that title open for cyborg. She's going to be doing her first shooting this weekend. It'll be a while til she's ready for this:

It's going to be easy. Get on I-80 in the Bronx, get off I-80 on the misty mountaintop.

Okay, so get on the 95 in the Bronx, get on the 80 in North Jersey, then get off the 80 on the misty mountaintop.
Piece of cake.

Be gentle. I'm a firearms virgin.

You can watch me first, then decide.
And I'm ALWAYS gentle, baby.

You should have started hanging out in the HH a couple months ago and gone to shootmoot. It could have been firearms immersion training! And out of state driving practice, and a date with petronski, all at the same time!

My cat doesn't get in them....she lies on top and she likes to lick the plastic ones. Weird cat.

It's not bad. I just drove that stretch...or I'm pretty sure I did. Went by Albany and all?
And I'm really, really scared of driving. If I can handle I-80, anyone can.

Indeed!
Between g'nad, OsageBowman and TalonDJ we were well supervised and given the short version of the NRA safety course. I should like to take the real thing at some point. Plus we had enough weaponry to take on a small army.
We shoulda taken Rosie's Van-sama so she could get in some driving practice... heh heh heh...

Halvah likes chewing on plastic bags. I dunno why.
Cleo liked tape, which terrifies these two. Give her a piece of tape and she'd play with it for hours.

I'm a stickler for safety. No one gets trigger time without some informative programming.
Besides, it's just a couple bolt-action rifles and a 915.

I drove back from South Florida with my sister. That wasn't bad at all. I've never driven so far by myself though. My mom has a medicine bag of garlic, cloves, Virgin Mary hood ornaments... *LOL* It's not that bad!

TheNuggets could be a code word.
Did anything happen at ShootMoot we don't know about?
Any lurkers try to make a surprise appearance? ;-D

I've always been pro-second amendment but never squeezed a trigger in my life. I'm looking forward.
