The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Any other statistics at your fingertips?Naw... I haven't done any post counting since thread 10, nearly a year ago.
Looks like I've never actually stopped a thread at the requested 5,000
Heh, that's what prompted me to post the table. ;)

Am I fashionably late?
All moved into my house... er, by that I mean all moved OUT of the old place. Still tons to do to get settled in. Most of it will wait until after mooting.

Heh...if you're like the average homebuyer, it may be years before you're all settled.
I had to sort through packed boxes that were still in the basement when I went to move out here...
Granted, I'd "only" been there two years, but still!

When many balls are in the air I try to not promise things but I don't see any problem with me making it at the moment.

Well, I'm gonna hit the couch, see if I can goad my husband into rubbing my achin' pasture-mowin' feet.
We'll see. ;~D
I'll monitor for pictures until I crash, but if I miss you tonight, hopefully you'll post bunches tomorrow!

Just a quick note on a new specialized Hobbit Hole product:
After hearing from SSG Chad in Bravo Company, I found out there might be a need for our troops to use something other than Hobbit Hole knives to cut off the plastic restraints used on hajis. I sent him some EMT snips and Camillus seatbelt cutters for trial.
I also got some of these, ASP restraint cutters. They're shown next to a Camillus seatbelt knife.
They're compact, and compound leverage pierces and cuts the restraint, while the cutter is safely shrouded. Some of them will be mailed out ASAP.

Yay ShootMoot! Wish I was there. The plan was I'd have left here an hour ago and arrive there this evening.
Was going to ask 2J and Steve if y'all would mind me picking up a couple $20 Daisys for the Jedis on the way down...oh well :)
Jen'n'Rosie (and anyone else still on the move)-- drive safely :)

Morning everyone!
Nice new thread we've got here! :-D
No pics from ShootMoot yet, I see - but hopefully there will be some soon. I wish I could be there. *sigh*
Santana was disappointing. Didn't play the 2 songs I wanted to hear and in all, they played maybe 20 minutes of music you could really groove to and the rest was bluesy/elevator crap.
I mean, how could they ~not~ play Oye Como Va or Black Magic Woman? Ridiculous.
There were lots of people complaining after the show over the lack of old Santana tunes in this show.
Oh. And of course Carlos Santana had to go on this 10 minute spiel about we are all one and we need to shed our skin and replace it with a new one, etc etc.
That man has access to some SERIES drugs, man!
