The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 |
      |
      | Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 |
      |
Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Far more effective than just waving a frying pan! Though you could also allow her to watch the cooking process.

Heh...

    Wait, you're talking about chickens?
Oh, I thought you were talking about me:
...they are bred to get huge, beyond the ability of their legs to hold them. And also beyond the ability of their hearts. If their legs don't break underneath them, they die of heart attacks.

The pool. I just finished cleaning the pool. When that storm came through, it pulled the cover off and it was full of limbs and debris. I got the jedis in there to get the leaves and limbs out and then vacuumed it out real good. It looks much better.

Heh! Yep...considering a knife sticking out of someone's chest and wiggling with each beat of the heart doesn't bother me at all.

Steve's taking the rental car back here in a bit...then I'm meeting him at the bus stop to pick him up. That way I only have to drive into south Tulsa, about 4 miles away, instead of way on the other side of Tulsa to the airport.

Whoa! That guy looks a LOT like Aragorn

He looked just like Viggo/Aragorn. Aimee' and I were just staring at him with our mouths hanging open. . .for much too long for proper Southern ladies. Finally Aimee' went over to ask for a picture. His costume was an amazing copy. When he started drinking "Starbucks Coffee" it sorta killed the effect .. .just a little.
