Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

     |
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |

       |

       |

Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |

       |

Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

National Doughnut DayDoes having a Cheese Danish count? I stopped at the King Arthur Flour store on my way to pick Clare and her friends up from the homeschool summer camp. I bought some 'day old' Apricot and Cheese Danish, and a loaf of bread , along with a bunch of other stuff, including a neat stoneware snowflake pattern shortcake pan that I'd seen last year, but couldn't bring myself to spend $30 on it. It was on the clearance rack! WooHoo!

Hey Susi & Alkhin! Yes I am sure that it is the same. What is different is we managed to get tickets to the opening party, "The Long-expected Party". . .you know, everyone all dressed up in LOTR costumes, horses running around in armor, celtic bands, and an occasional swordfight.
Aimee' and I went out to rent some costumes today, but they didn't look so great and it is HOT here already, unless we want to get that breezy "Gollum Look".

I finally settled for my "Gladie ring and necklace" with some plain old "hot time in Houston" jeans and top. Since we will be in such a bad part of town at 2:00 am, I might bring "Sting" and my replica of the "Phial".
Anyway excited and hope to get some pictures.

Posting on the fly (laptop+celldialup+70mph). Currently about 50 miles north of STL.

I think that puts me 2 hours and 20 min out but I am not certain.

We're *in* Austin... well, on one edge, but the address says "Austin". Anyway, we're going to be busy this weekend trying to find a car to buy, so won't have time to visit Houston.
mstar, hope you have a great time at the event!

I sure hope the dems don't figure out that Dean is just part of a grand Rovian Scheme. It's too perfect, and it makes for great TV.
