The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, I didnt get time to come by there, they sold me the wrong sidekick, and the wrong sling, so I made the extra trip to the gun shop, sorry. As for the horse thing I think he's scared, as for the air plane, well all I can say is , YEAH RIGHT! I used to think that would be cool, but as of late I have no use for jumping out of a perfectly good plane.

Go figure!

I'm tired just reading that, Corin. And this mornin', I
...shoveled the dog poop outta the yard (if'n he goes in the driveway again I'm takin' away his walker)
...watered Stormhands gardens
...filled the bird feeders
And then got ready for work. No, I did not make it to the gym.
'Course the worst thing was that I discovered...
(cue ominous music)
....we were out of COFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Whereabouts did you want to rent? Ideally, I'd like to be somewhere between Mileposts 6 and 15-ish.

Thanks fer the espresso...
To make it worse, when I got here the receptionist hadn't made coffee 'cause she didn't know who was comin' in today. Most are out at another meeting. I'm the only coffee drinker in our section here (thus the only normal one here today).
But we're better now.

Okay, today's gardening questions...
1) Is it too late to plant more sunflowers? Seeds I got (admittedly fer free) musta been bad, or got et. I've only got two, maybe three comin' up.
2) If'n the mater's are turned yellow at the bottom, what do that mean? Were they just dry? It rained over the weekend, but then the heat spiked to the high 90s.

I think you can still plant sunflowers....just make sure they're watered well.
For the tomatoes I'm thinking that you've got bottom end rot started - caused by a calcium deficiency if I recall correctly. Try top dressing the soil with fertilizer.

...woke up
...had coffee
...had breakfast
...showered
...dressed
...thought I was running late and started packing lunch
...~then~ looked at the clock and realized I'm a full hour ahead of schedule
'zit Friday yet?
I guess it is better to be too early than too late, but still...
To: Corin Stormhands
Oh NO!
That's a bad way to wake up. Though I've been waiting until after my workout to take caffeine.
