In observing the sad state of our society I have noticed a few things that seem to be related. there is a tremendous proliferation of over reaching regulation to prevent accidents. There are air bags and passive restraints to prevent deaths in car crashes. There are all kinds of restrictions on how I can arrange things on my own property to prevent trespassers from hurting themselves. I can't buy a mercury thermometer because some idiot might get exposed to a small amount of a heavy metal. These regulations exist to keep idiots from hurting themselves in the normal course of being idiots.
The idiots appear to be taking over society. An idiot spills coffee on himself and they sue the restaurant and win substantially more than the price of the coffee. The cookie monster is made into the celery monster because cookies are unhealthy. (I just can't fathom Ol' Cookie singing C is for Celery!) Starbucks is able to call a small coffee a "Grande" and charge five bucks for something you can get at the gas station for a buck and a half. And Kerry was considered a serious candidate for President of the United States.
I believe these things are related that by regulating against accidents stupid people are not killing themselves like they are supposed to and the resulting increase in stupidity is pulling the collective IQ of the country down making us an entire nation stupid people.
Perhaps we should start letting the dumb play with blasting caps or grizzly bear insulting.
What do you think?
So by pinging us, you are saying? ;)
That is true. Whatever happened to massive tort reform?
They passed some already. Bush needs to go for the jugular on those worthless leeches!
I know, but nothing that is going to put the John Edwards types out of business.
Don't ever mention that stinking pile of maggot infested excrement to me again!
I think we are one of the following:
1. stupid people
2. smart people perceived to be stupid people
Indeed!
So you don't like John Edwards?
What do you mean? I just listed his good points!
Skooz, honey, don't be so hard on yourself. You are quite well endowed in the brain area.
Course, the libs think everyone is stupid except them.
If we were handing out stupid signs to the Dems in congress, imagine how many of those there would be.
We'd have to have extra-large for Ted Kennedy.
Ah, shucks. You say that to all the mensas.
LOL. Great post.
Ok. Now this is getting bad. First prostitution and now 'stupid'.
It's called chlorine in the gene pool and the lawyers are keeping it from being applied to the water.
Practical Darwinism?
"Golgafrincham, home of the circling poets of Arium, decided that one third of its population was useless, and devised a ruse to get rid of them by concocting a story that their planet would shortly be destroyed in some great catastrophe.
The useless population consisted of middle management, telephone sanitizers, management consultants, marketing executives, hairdressers and the like. Although there were conflicting accounts of the exact nature of the supposed catastrophe, they were generally told that a giant mutant star goat was threatening Golgafrincham.
All these people were packed into one of three giant Ark spaceships and told that everyone else would follow shortly in the other two. Of course they did not follow, and lived happily for a while; but, ironically enough, the whole remaining population shortly afterward died out from a deadly plague spread by unexpectedly dirty telephone."
