*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

When I lived in the south I went by the theory that if it was in water it was a water moccasin. That carried over to if it was hanging from a tree by the water. Also, anything within 20 feet of the water. :)

Do be careful taunting snakes! We do NOT want you to get pictures!

We're off to see the Lipizzaners! [and visit and pick up the truck while we're in the neighborhood!]

I live by the theory that if it is a snake its deadly. Even if it's not poisonous, I am liable to hurt myself getting away from it! :D

Check out this, second stud down. We are looking for a stud to breed the little Arabian too. He just might work. Not too far from home anyways.

Look at the sweet little riding buddy. That is so neat. Quality time, spent with Grandma.

I threw the first rock to give Blake an idea where to look. It was pretty far away.

You guys have a great time.

Kristy is coming to get me about 7 and we are going to the arena in town to practice barrels. I'll have more pictures tonight too.

Becky

Thanks:) He is a sweetheart.

He's been asking me the names of all the flowers in my garden. He said he liked it alot. I think that is something coming from a 7yr. old.

Well that's really a good theory if you think about it. If you figure all snakes are dangerous you won't pick up the wrong one by accident. Sorta like if you figure all guns are loaded you won't pick up one thinking it's empty and get shot by accident.

Ok. One more post and I'll try to shut up:') Yeah,. too much vet confusion this year. Funny thing is that the vet that didn't do lab and got a different diagnosis was the one that ordered the medicine that worked though. I think I'm just gonna give what I have and then I'll find a vet "up north" and let him decide if he wants anything else. I just need to cordinate the RX stuff with visits to keep my cost down. When they are due again I'll wait until time to float them.

I promise you, there is NO chance I would EVER pick up a anke by accident. When we go fishing, I am the one who has to sit furthest away from the bait and you would NEVER catch me touching a worm or maggot or anything plastic even resembling them! The kids get all that fun and think I'm soft!

I am happy to be soft! : D

Getting Shivers. Bugs don't bother me but I HATE SNAKES. If they all became extinct it wouldn't bother me a bit.

I think your grandson is great for a 7 year old! He looks older.
To be noticing plants, flowers and life around him is wonderful. Sounds like he may have the temperment to be a vet when he grows up!

I agree! Extinct is a very very good word as far as they are concerned. Spiders, I can deal with, cockroaches have me screaming but snakes make me physically sick.

Listen? What do you hear? NOTHING! My MIL went to Mexico. My son and his family off somewhere and Eddie still at work. I had forgotten what quiet was:')
