When I lived in the south I went by the theory that if it was in water it was a water moccasin. That carried over to if it was hanging from a tree by the water. Also, anything within 20 feet of the water. :)
I live by the theory that if it is a snake its deadly. Even if it's not poisonous, I am liable to hurt myself getting away from it! :D
Good theory to live by, coz if you don't and guess wrong you ain't gonna live long.
And Becky, that don't mean got gotta go try to stone 'em to death either and just end up making 'em mad or gettin' bit!! Leave 'em the he// alone! ;o)
