and the MLS continues to be a retirement league for European players and a place for Americans who actually thought they would be good enough to play professional soccer.

"75% of US National Team players play in MLS."
That's sort of proving my point. The US National team isn't exactly a good team.

It certainly is. MLS attendance is higher than NHL and NBA.

They're top 10...I even think they were ranked as high as 5 or 6 not too long ago.
Don't know where they're ranked now...

July 04 they were 7th and that was the highest of Nov 04 where they were sitting outside of the top 10 at 11th.

I won't. You let me know when the MLS stops being a retirement home for European leagues and the other 75 percent of the National team gets good enough to play in Europe.

I wouldn't take much notice of those rankings.
We're sixth and we're rubbish.
To: tfecw
That's a logical fallacy.
If all of our National Team players played in Europe, MLS would never be considered a serious league.
We do have very successful former MLS players playing in Europe - at some of the best soccer clubs (Tim Howard at Manchester United, Beasley at PSV, McBride and Bocanegra at Fulham, Reyna at Manchester City, etc.)
