The 1970s were a time of some serious changes in our society and culture. Some good, most bad. Here at the Pissant Reasearch Center, we've compiled the Top 5 lists of the good and bad which that forgetful decade foisted upon us.
TOP 5 BAD THINGS FROM THE 1970s
5. Polyester suits
4. Detroits Automobiles
3. Jane Fonda
2. Disco
1. Jimmy Carter
TOP 5 GOOD THINGS FROM THE 1970s (this is tough)
5. Scooby Doo
4. Dorothy Hammill
3. Monday Night Football team (Cossell, Meridith, Gifford)
2. John Paul II
1. Count Chocula & Frankenberry
Try me..:) I owned several Alice Cooper albums. I know what the lyrics meant. Unfortunately, I also got to see when "only women.." the plethora of pro-feminist banners, literature etc using the "only women..." song title, twisted to suit their twisted sister philosophy. You know what it was like in the San Francisco Area when that song came out? It gave new meaning to "altering the message". Classrooms with feminist chicks, either students or teachers.. going straight on with the "only women bleed... therefore women are better.. they suffer more, they love more... blah
1960s Neil Diamond was fine. He went soft in the 1970s.
Another favorite show- The Carol Burnett Show
Tim Conway was a favorite.
... THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY! Oh.. what about the Cowsills?
"Nnnnyyaaaaaa---yaaaaa-yaaaaa"
Amen!
Alice I can tolerate. Kiss was/is for 12 year olds. Give me Rory Gallagher!
ROFL!
I drove my dad's 1976 Pinto Wagon for several years. Fir what I put it through, I would say it was the best car ever made. :)
Soft or downright fern bar flacid?
I vote for both!
LOL! (Romy and Michelle): I recognize this poster and show but only if you acknowledge publically that I'm the "Mary" and you're the "Rhoda"!!!
EARTH SHOES The Ugliest Shoes of the 70's
moderate. :0)
LOL. You were hopeless!!!
Best: 1979 Cad Eldo Biarritz (yeah, this is a 1980, but virtually identical).
Put over 200K miles on mine. It WOULD. NOT. DIE.
I didn't even like Kiss as a 12-year old. Now that they have gone a long time without the makeup, I can handle "I wanna rock all nite" but that is nothing for them to brag about.
"Beth" was as wimpy as anything else in the 70s.
Love Will Keep Us Together was my favorite song they did.
Yeah, and my grandma made me watch the Lawrence Welk show with her. That'll really damage a kid.
