My mother got the early 70s 2 door, stick-shift Mercury Cyclone in that hideous orange color after the divorce. Black vinyl interior and no a/c. I cried when she sold it in the 80s, but we sweat like heck in the backseat in the summertime.
Hooking rugs was the worst.

We did have cool shoes, though.

How about "Heaven on the Seventh Floor" by the Adrissi Brothers? Or "Ariel" by Dean Freidman?

No home computers to waste our times with.
Usenet was around though if you had access.
I didn't get connected to Usenet until the mid-1980s although independent BBSes were big in the 1980s).

Life is always easy when you are young with minimal responsibilities. Unfortunately, the political crap spewed by CSN turned me away as I got wiser!

I still believe Karen Carpenter has the best singing voice I have ever heard.... Ditto that. What a voice! Damn shame how she died.

Take that BACK! Sitting on the front deck of a 37-foot sailing vessel heading out to the Farallon Islands, singing "Aye Calypso" (insert 70s name: Jaques Costeau") at top notch brings back great memories...
I feel a big memory burp comin' on...."Love Story" "Sunshine... (the movie) ushering in the age and politicization of victimhood.

Oh, I know, but not until the late 70's, as I remember. And they were pretty rare.
We had that Pong machine, before we got an Atari. My uncle still has that Pong thing, and it still works.
But we STILL preferred to play outside.
