Fred Willard? He was the sidekick to Martin Mull on Fernwood 2Night. I don't remember a whole lot of the Real People episodes, he may have made some guest segments, but he's not the older guy I'm thinking of. Wally Something? No, that's not right. Hang on, it'll come to me ...

Gonzo was a vulture? Yup.

Nirvana stinks to high heaven in my book. As does 1990s rock in general!

I don't feel quite the same about him now. He was one of my favorite Muppets, but knowing he was a carrion-eater just ruins it for me. ;-)

Actually you can thank Poison 13 (and Sub-Pop did eventually find their way to re-issuing those 80s classics).

John Barbour! That's the guy I'm thinking of! And you are correct, Fred was a regular, I don't remember him on it at all, though I must say I wasn't really a regular viewer.
One thing I do recall ... Byron Allen was a new comedian, only 19 when he did his first Real People show!

Nothing quite says 70s white guy more than Fred Willard.

Byron's still in television but I must say that he seemingly disappeared for 20 years.

We must agree to disagree. For me, Cobain was a genius, though a sad nutcase. And, he had dreadful taste in women...

My patience for new rock & roll expired in the early 1990s.
