Actor Tom Cruise doesnt approve of Brooke Shieldss method to get through postpartum depression after giving birth to her first child, daughter Rowan.
In Shieldss new book, Down Came the Rain, she admits to taking medication to cope with the depression.
Cruise had a small role in Shieldss movie Endless Love 24 years ago. In an interview with TV show Access Hollywood, Cruise said, I care about Brooke Shields because I think she is an incredibly talented women, but look at where has her career gone.
Cruises religion, Scientology, does not approve of mind-altering medication of any kind. When someone says medication has helped them, it is to cope, it didn't cure anything. There is no science. There is nothing that can cure them whatsoever.
Cruise went on to say that women should "take vitamins and exercise" and that Shields was "irresponsible" for promoting anti-depressants.
Cruise also talked about Shieldss career: Look, is she happy? Is she really happy?

Amen!
Some of the men in the movies are pretty to look at but I would never be able to tolerate their egos.
My husband works hard every day protecting all of us in his position with homeland security. He is a loving husband and a great father. THAT is sexy! But I think I find him most alluring when He rolls up his sleeves and...does the dishes! Oooooohhhhh, Baby!
And not just because she's a knockout and he's a sawed-off bore.
Okay, that's part of it actually but she is a knock-out.
Are y'all still out there? I miss you. Want to weigh in on this topic?
Tell your hubby thank you for me! And it sounds like he's a pretty lucky guy to have such a loving wife!
I whole heartedly agree that a guy doing dishes is MUY sexy!!
Unfortunately my hubby will never understand that...his loss! Lol!
Women don't go gaga over the little boy. Girls and boys do.
:)
Well said! Muir and cyborg have said it well too!
Smart people on this thread today! Does my heart good! : )
LOL!
(You have the hottest tagline in the history of FR, btw)
Dang! For a second, I was thinking you were talking to me!
There are a lot of dentists who attend practice management seminars that are run by the Church of Scientology. After only a few weeks, their personalities are completely different. They become pushy, opinionated, loudmouthed jerks with delusions of grandeur. (OK, most dentists are like that to begin with, but they get worse!) Usually 90% of the office staff quits or is replaced in the first year. I am a dental hygienist who frequently does temp work in various offices and can easily pick out the offices who follow Scientology. (Just look for the poster of the "tone scale" on the wall.)
Oops. That one's going to haunt Cruise just a little bit. He's starting to take his Operating Thetan status (or however high he's gotten on that Co$ chart) too seriously.
If he's going ask about whether she's "really happy" in terms of whether or not she's a hot property or not, maybe he should ask the same question of his Scientology sister, Kirstie Alley. She's gone from being the love interest on TV's top sitcom to having a flop sitcom of her own to the donut shop to the ice cream store to the food court at the mall to being reduced to having a show on cable dedicated to how much trouble she has getting her career kick-started after the US Postal Service issued her butt its own Zip Code.
Better yet, Cruise should ask that other sought-after Hollywood Scientologist: Eddie Deezen.
Good to see you!
I saw clips of this interview today on MSNBC. Billy Bush did the interview and stayed professional but I think one could see a "I can't believe he's saying all of this stuff" look on his face.
It sounded even more arrogant than it reads.
Later in the day I happened to hear that Brook Shields had issued a statement saying Cruise is a good actor and should stick to that and leave women and their medical needs to them and their doctors.
Good for her.
Scientology is a wallet altering drug.
Good luck with being a hermit. I hope it works out for you. :)
One dental office where I used to work spent over $40,000 a year for the office manager to attend these Scientology classes.
who's next?......Farah Fawcett ? -
what a great guy (sarcasm)
Maybe Tom should go to this site....this depresses me I use to like him....:(
