Go, Herman!
Pulp fiction as a genre has an undeserved bad name, those first publishers were our earliest conservationists in the true and streetworn sense.
Somehow the quality of the paper on which the words were printed came to be representative of the worth of the words themselves.
Few truly read to learn, most read to enjoy or to escape the pithy core of their humduggery.
Happy 95th!
Thanks. I knew you’d remember. :)
Happy 96th!
Happy 97th!
Well played. :)
Well, now I'm on the real time + 70 years reading of WOW/WAR. And I still don't see the romantic relationships coming from a thought process mired in the 60s or 70s.
Check out the WWII + 70 Years news thread on June 4 for the next Wouk excerpt I have lined up.
Happy 98th!
Beat me to it!
“The Winds of War” and “War and Rememberance” are two of the most powerful novels ever written.
CONCUR.....Classics
Happy 99th!

It was so good, SNL adapted it for a sketch in 1983.
Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!

Currently reading “The Hope”, with some arab stuff to help a bit with overall perspective.
Herman Wouk is probably my favorite contemporary author.
Thanks for the initial post.
All Good....
His books are still readable today and I happily point out that he is still alive.
Happy 100!
Amazing! :)
Happy 101st!
