Viewers Look for Answers on 'Lost' Finale
By FRAZIER MOORE, AP Television Writer
Wednesday, May 25, 2005(05-25) 12:06 PDT New York (AP) --
During the thrilling first season of "Lost," viewers of this eerie ABC serial may have felt a little lost themselves. So no wonder these "Lost" fans were hoping to find a few more clues as the two-hour season finale aired Wednesday night.
Would there be more information on the Others -- those mysterious folks terrorizing the island castaways?
How will things go for the raft built by the castaways that launched, with four of them aboard, from the beach last week?
Will that noisy monster that's been running amok finally attack?
And what's up with that strange, port-holed hatch installed in the jungle floor, and thus far vexingly impenetrable?

Maybe--I was wondering why the French woman called it Black Rock?

They were told that the port-holed hatch installed in the jungle floor was welded shut and should be left alone.
I think if they open it, that they will find Jack Bauer has left Mexico and doing the jobs they wouldn't do in Mexico to come kick some island bottoms.
That aside, think genetic tampering is involved with creatures or do you folks think there's a mystic thing like a genie involved here?

could they find something far worse they should never have gotten near?

Not really a spoiler,
"Spoiler No. 5: You will be talking about the cliff-hanger all summer. "It is beyond shocking," Abrams claims. "It's hair-raising. Also, something happens that is so terrifying, that's unexpected, and yet, it was right there, building for a while. Can it be anything but Hillary Clinton running for Mayor if this island?

This show is starting to remind me of "The Village".

Great season finale.
Black Rock is the nickname given to Universal's corporate office building.
Black Rock is also a beach in Melbourne, Australia.

"Genetic tampering?" That's interesting. A 21st century "Island of Dr. Moreau."
Maybe that's why the pirates kidnapped the young boy.

I taped the two hour finale, and tonight when I got home to watch it I think I fast forwarded through about eighty commercials.
That was maddening enough, but for those who actually sat there for two hours having to endure more commercials than show, it must have been excruciating.

LOL, agreed, you might be on to something.

I watched this on a 6 foot wide HD picture, so I catch a lot of what isn't seen on regular TV.
The monster was like a hive of bees. Appeared like to zip around like smoke, then turn into a solid that could drag island people around or as we seen before, kill.
You have a hatch opened with the same weird numbers that seem to be the center connection of the whole thing.
They said they were drawn to the island.
There was an ancient pirate ship there. Other planes crashed there.
What if the island has something on it that is like the brain of a hive, making bees or something become like a solid to be a monster.
Or to have the same number (maybe related to a genetic code from aliens even?) has gravitated the people all there on the island in some form of mind control and they were snatched like aliens supposedly abduct people.
The black boy has visions and often sees the future. He wanted off the island, but didn't see the OTHERS coming to take him away.
The other three are stranded on the bits of the raft left by explosion some 15 miles out in the ocean.
What is down the dome? The ladder so old it was in pieces as they faded the camera shot while looking out.
Why was the explosive lit anyway when our latino buddy was yelling NO, DON'T LITE THE FUSE?
I have had contact with a writer from the show on an email I sent, and no, they are NOT DEAD!

Yeah, those commercials were excrutiating.. especially the commercials after the whole sequence where the Others took Walt, shot Sawyer, and blew up the raft. Now that's how drama is supposed to be done.
In other areas, I thought that what they showed of the hatch was kind of boring (a broken ladder to hell?), but that whole sequence convinced me that Locke is one of the creepiest people alive.

Locke is my favorite character, but that doesn't mean he isn't creepy. Is he right in thinking that the Island is good, even though the Others may not be? After all, it returned to him his legs.
And are the Others bad? Or do they need the innocence of a child to conjure the "security system" to protect them? After all, Walt was responsible (I think) for the polar bear.
Are the others the crew of the Black Rock or Danielle's old science team?

Cool. If the show's canceled, you and K2B get the spin-off.
