He would lose his "maverick" status for sure. but would it make him less dangerous or more dangerous?

The liberal dream of having a RINO president would die.

They should staple a flag to McCain's butt and send him to Iran.

I would rather the state of Arizona pull their collective heads out of their butts and either elect a real conservative or a democrat.

I'd much rather see him no longer in government.

Would you rather that McCain be a Democrat than a Republican? I think we should accept that he's one of our black sheep. He's with us on some stuff and against us on other stuff.

Lets see. If the republicans kicked mccain out of the party or demonize him like the democrats did to The Honerable Senator Miller, it would satisfy the conservative core but would alienate the "moderates" that Senator McCain appeals to.

In short, though you might like to disagree with them, the Senators who are part of 'the deal' are also part of keeping the Republican base wide and diverse which is the reason the Republican base is growing rapidly and the democrats who are busy kicking out everyone who isn't a radical tree hugging YEAAARGHer have been shrinking in power and support.

So grin and bear it. This is actually healthy for the party and advances our goals in ways that aren't very obvious but are very real.

It's all up to Bush and Frist now. Bush squandered his "political capital" on a half-assed social security effort, alien amnesty and campaign-payoff bankruptcy bill. Had he focused on the Judges from day one, it would have been DONE. Bush dropped the ball. What will he and Frist do now? If he permits this compromise, Presidential power will have been set back 3 decades.

Just thank God he wasn't the Republican candidate for Pres in 2000.

What a shame... he could have been a Conservative, but fell to the power of the Dark Side.

McCain must go. The only way to push him out is to make sure he does not feel welcome. This guy needs to be freeped and freeped bigtime. Club for Growth etc. are you out there. Please use the benefits conferred upon you by McCain Feingold (that act of acts) and make this guy's life a living hell.

If we blast these 7 RINO'S it could change the power structure. They would be forced to move to the left. (Now that is where these SOB’s belong but now we need to wait) We lost one but we will move forward to fight another battle another day. I have written about 'beat me with a McCain' for sometime and I believe you will see another re-call attempt. The last one was in 2001 and after 9-11 that ended. It will be revived but we need to let the smoke settle a little before we hit them all.
NOT ONE BIT OF BACKBONE OR LEADERSHIP. THEY ARE SO AFRAID OF THE MAINSTREEM MEDIA AND HOW THEY WILL BE PORTRAYED THEY WILL DO ANYTHING, EVEN SELL-OUT WHAT THEY SAY THEY BELIEVE IN.
THEY ARE PIECES OF GARBAGE

Is there anyway to get the names of the people that Clinton has the FBI files?

Power in Congress comes from holding committee leadership positions. Cain holds some high powered committee leadership positions. When Mccain ran for President he was flying on private jets provided by companies who had to deal with his Telecomm committee. Much of his campaign money is raised because of those committee's power over companies.

It wouldn't be as hard as kicking him out of the Senate just to reshuffle the committee leadership. Oh and if I was President Bush I would have the FBI start investigating McCain, once corrupt (Keating) always corrupt and a good bit of dirt might make McCain resign.
