World famous adventure dog Lassie is to make a big screen comeback.
And Irish actor Peter O'Toole has broken the golden rule of never working with children or animals to star alongside the pooch.
Filming will start shortly in Ireland for Lassie Come Home, although the film will be set in Yorkshire and Scotland.
The famous actor, who shot to fame in the 1962 classic Lawrence of Arabia, will play the Duke Of Rudling who buys the dog from a poor family and takes him to a remote Scottish castle.
But the film will show Lassie desperately heading back to his former owner south of the border in time for Christmas.
The original 1943 film starred a young Elizabeth Taylor.
More films followed before it was turned into a popular TV series, with nearly 700 episodes made.
In this version, Lassie is an inbred Pit Bull living in a trailer park with a cruel owner who beats and starves him. Rescued, he is given to O'Toole, who lives next door to a childrens park... Lassie then takes a grim, dark turn, and ends up like Ol' Yella... /:)
I might watch THAT!
Well, at least Hillary is keeping busy...
Damn. I really hated that show!

Yeah, me too. I always thought Timmy was a little light in the loafers, if ya get my drift. |
Hehehe
Then Peter O'Toole is a good fit for the new flick!
;)
How could you hate this couple. You know, in a couple of years (when we redefine marriage again) they could get married.
I always thought Lassie would make a good pair of slippers. The kid was good for nothing!
I loved Lassie but then I am a major softie when it comes to animals, dogs in particular
I'm guessing Lassie was preferred by girls and "sensitive" boys. I was neither. ;o)
Oh really?
Ahhhhh, yes, now I understand . . . pissant.
Welllll, some of us feel differently.
I know. It's all about feelings. We are in the age of Oprah now, afterall. ;o)
I had 5 collies in sequence. 3 of them were the Lassie variety. One was a black and white border collie. 1 was a mixed breed but mostly Lassie variety.
The latter one came with the old adobe mud hut homestead we bought. If our guests were quiet and there was no evidence of a good time, she was fine.
If there was a lot of laughter etc., she'd bite the guests on their exit, if possible.
She might have been more your type of dog.
So how will the libs distort this icon?
I like most big dogs, the sweeter disposition, the better. I just don't like sappy TV shows. I never liked Shane, if that's any consolation! ;o)
By calling the landlord who buys her an evil Republican and casting her as a globalist little people?
Kind of turning reality upside down somehow as usual, would be my guess.

Timmy was as gay as that kid on "Who's the Boss."
