Conservative PC gaming, online or Play by Email

A misplaced post in breaking news concerned the plot for an upcoming computer game. That got me thinking, are there any FReepers out there that play computer games online or via email, and if so, is it a large enough group to warrant a ping list for those interested in gaming against other FReepers?

I play a fair amount of military simulations, and they run the gamut from turn based strategy (Gary Grigsby's World at War) to first person shooters (Call of Duty).

Since conservatives are by definition more fair minded, mature and sportsmanlike than the general public, it would be great to have a pool of conservative opponents to compete with.

Even if there isn't any interest in rounding up an available FR opponents list, I'd like to hear about what PC games FReepers are playing, especialy military themed games. My latest diversion is Silent Hunter III, an excelent WWII sub sim from the German perspective, and my all time favorite game would probably be Combat Mission, probably the best tactical WWII infantry game out there.

Any other geeks in the house?

I've been playing (RTCW) Enemy-Territory "some". But a bunch of us locally started playing paintball, and that makes ET boring. :-)

I'll have to say though, It's never taken me a day and half to heal up after playing ET. :-)

Conservative PC gaming

Conservative and politically correct at the same time? Isn't that an oxymoron?

One of the most common games I've ever played by e-mail was Diplomacy. But hardly anyone out there even knows about this strategy game anymore, much less actually plays it.

You have me there, it should have read "Computer Gaming", or, as we children who want to be taken seriously call it, "Computer Conflict Simulation".

If you start a ping list, add me please.

I've mostly been playing CoD and waiting on CoD2. Have most of the popular 1st person shooters.

I'm not much into online play. I tend to jump around genre's. I would have to say my favorite all time PC game is Grand Prix Legends. It's a race sim based on the 1967 Formula One season. Grisby's World at War, CivII & Rise of Nations is also diverting my attention.

:-)

The Half Life/TFC gaming community I use to be active in is for the most part moderate/conservative.There are a few liberals, but not many. Politics and Religion are usually avoided though to keep the peace.

Just to add though that when I was still playing online there were many liberal idiots on the servers from time to time. It wasn't rare to have somebody use the name like Saddam or Bin Laden and not in a sarcastic meaning either.

I play RPG's on line all the time. It would be great to have FReepers, to group with. Currently playing Guild Wars. I like the questing, story telling type of game.

I play Guild Wars also. Mostly with henchmen since most of the people online are jerks, immature or plain ignorant when it comes to teamwork. I am always looking for a consistent, good group of people to game with. BTW lv 14 Ran/Mes at this moment.

That is the thing about a FReeper gaming group that would be most appealing, in that I really think the average FReeper is more of a Sportsman than the average online gamer.

DO you play any Xbox Live games? IF you do I would be more than happy to game with you! More into the tactical FPS games myself, though I do play alot of MMORPG's also.

Sounds good. My player name is "Tranh Vuki". Now that summer is here I usually get on later during the weekdays also for a few hours of gaming and on the weekends it also depends on the weather. Hope to see you online sometime!

I had the same thought... about a week ago, I started a similar thread... I did do some searching, but didn't come across this thread before.
Anyway, I decided to start such a list. I called it Freeping Gamers!
Had you already started a list?
If not, would you like on mine?
