Thirty years ago today, we lost 41 brave men, mainly Marines, when President Ford ordered them into battle to rescue the men of the SS Mayaguez.
I think we should keep them in our memories and their families in our prayers.
I remember that cause it was just before I graduated from high school....all those brave men, those who came before and those after are always in my prayers and memory
keeping the damned world safe when other's won't.....our military has saved this world so many times, I've lost count...thank God he hasn't

I appreciate the correction.
I appreciate the correction.
It saddens me to read that list. Imagine all of those young kids with bright futures, and then having everything taken from them in an instant. Mind you, I believe that you should be willing to sacrifice for your country, even your life if need be, and I've seriously considered the military as a post-HS path.
"whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it"
(Matthew 16:25)
So did I. But when I graduated in 1984 I was too fat and I had to drop out of ROTC because I was a "fatbody".
Woody Rumbaugh. Good man. Knew him well.
