Word For The Day, Friday, May 13, 2005

Friday, May 13, 2005

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Dodgeball Day!

Subbie Slip has given her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs to xs today.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

big deal. all that is required in such an instance is your clean and preferably not SMELLY presence. to spring this crap on the person who is required to make it happen by procuring and preparing the victuals, is what calls for bodily violence.

I know women who do things like that-I'm not one, though. I remind hubby of evening social engagements in the morning so that activities can be planned accordingly.

Can it be frozen to turn into instant kid meals at a later date?

"how did she know that they were water co. employees?"

With their usual arrogance when confronted by a property owner, they identified themselves as water company employees there to inspect their flood easement which she was using as access to the water as per agreement. I guess they didn't get the memo-only 7% of the HOA membership signed that agreement, and none of them are in the area of the first 1912 court settlement with the ranchers where she and I live. It might behoove them to find out where the people live who DID sign the bogus piece of crap since that judge warned the water co. lawyers against further harrassment of property owners who did not sign on right there in the hearing, and his remarks were duly published on the front page of the local papers ...

well in the eyes of mr. monster ego of the GATED ENCLAVE, i am sure it is. the public schools in Falls Church city are somewhat better than the surrounding schools and for that reason there are those that find it desirable. i wouldn't live in the earthwatching communist gulag if you paid me. and to xskids, "falls churcher" is about a half step up from "liberal" on the epithet scale ; ) T5 i can't tell you how it tickles me that you found a falls churcher loon that far afield in TX, LOL!

It really is funny, isn't it? What amazes me is that they are so hot to get back to FC-but then after making a dumbass remark he made to hubby about people selling their house to someone just because they had the money to buy it, I'm not surprised-duh, the house was FOR SALE-what were we supposed to do-tell the realtor not to take a contract with the buyer unless they had a dime, a health card and a note from their mothers? It sounds like the looney belongs back in FC...

I guess it just goes to show that you can take the loon out of Falls Church, but you can't take Falls Church out of the loon...

well, like i said, it will be interesting to see if they can even buy something at this point in Falls Church. the RE in this area is sky high, FC is every bit as bad, $600k for tiny little dumps, i kid you not, with no yard to speak of.

I'll certainly hear from one of the other former neighbors if they get back there-according to hubby, they will just about ransom their souls to do so and live among their own kind. Alamo Heights is like FC, it seems-prices twice as high as anywhere else for a hovel, but people pay it gladly for the "status" of living there-why, I cannot imagine-it is a liberal infested gulag, too...

well the status of living in FC is in the eyes of its own denizens, because in the greater DC area, there are many nicer areas, equally or more expensive, but with bigger lots and bigger houses.

I hear you-there is a gated, snooty neighborhood in this community that is way out of reason-my realtor neighbor told me last night that she is listing a 7 year old 2 story modern stucco house on 1/5 acre there that is 3 bedrooms and two baths-no ceramic tile or wood floors, carpet and linoleum only, formica counter tops in the kitchen, a small deck and waterfront and only 2400 sq ft-and it is listed at over $400,000. The houses on our road are just as nice or nicer than that, and most are bigger but of course, we don't have snob value.
