In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.
Adjective combining form
Pronunciation: Zoic
Etymology: [Greek] (zoicos) Of or pertaining to animals
1) Animal: having an animal mode of existence: animal life and action.
2) Of or relating to a (specified) geological era.
I guess we could say Hobbes1 is a tigerzoic humanoid. So sorry, Tiger. It was a low fast ball.
You can use any root word for the zoic. Just make it sound like we know what were writing.
LOL!! Cute!
Well.. there was the time I got kicked out of a store for helping a friend withher shopping..
Bobby who?
Vicky's Secret, no doubt. ;-)
"Revenge of the Sith" sounds like someone getting a well-deserved venereal disease.
Actually, no.
It was "The Deb", and the saleslady didn't appreciate my thoughtful attempts to help my friend with her shopping.
Sorry, xs, it was Whyisa being the going-to-the-12:01-a.m.-showing-geek, not you. I should have pinged her to this venereal stuff. Natch.
"The Deb?" I see why.... :-)
you know, i have a different take. i agree with the poster on the thread who said, two parents married to each other is best, but one parent who wants this child is better than none. Adoption is WONDERFUL and is the alternative to abortion. good for her, i commend her for it. whoever gave the baby up could not or did not want to deal with it, sharon stone i assume will care for him well, i give her every benefit of the doubt.
It's true the kid will likely never have to worry where it's next meal is coming from, pretty good for an orphan.
I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date....
See the relativists,
who believe in the here and now,
but not the future,
in touch with the animal side of nature -
who touches whom,
who eats what
seem more important to them
that the things that make us human -
love focused on the beloved,
the true dignity of human life,
the sure knowledge there is more to life
than grunting in a pigstye -
at least the animals in the field
know more about the fruits of reproduction
than those too selfish
in their zoic pleasures
to share
with the next generation.
She ssems to have named the kid Laird vonne Stone ("Lord of the stone...")
I love your post.
...and were your hands visible at all times?
Why thank you!
This is what happens when I am awake and have had breakfast, coffee and exercise before I start writing!
Gets the synapses working a little more coherently....
You're quite welcome, Knitting. And unfortunately, I wouldn't know nothin' bout coherent synapsin' at ANY time of the day...under ANY circumstances. Even after I've been totally sugar-bombed. LOL.
Yes.
Let's just say that my friend, a lady, and myself wore the exact same size in pants on the dot...
And you can probably imagine what happened to get the reaction I got.
(Hairy legs! Hairy legs! Argh!)
