Thank you. We dragged our feet getting the stupid thing filed. We kept joint accounts during years of separation & I do mean years. After he left I told him to make me an offer & if it was reasonable, it was a done deal. He knew me (married 25 years) & knew my goals were realistic. Our shared goal was to make sure it didn't enrich the government or any lawyers. In the end, it was more like a business agreement than a divorce. Cash flow for each of us was the biggest consideration.
I hope you both got on with your lives happily
Yes, we have....
and that your little man was able to avoid any trauma.
LOL He's not so little. The baby is now 19. Dad's relationship with his sons is my gripe! He's more of a father to his girlfriend's kids than he is to his own. For that, I could wring his neck! I try to tell the boys to treat her with respect, but she makes it darn hard & their father always back her up.
Money is one thing. Mess with my kids & I can get ugly. Oh well, can't fix it, so gotta make the best of it. I should have gotten involved with a guy who had demonstrated that he liked being around kids.
LOL - how do you get a guy to demonstrate his long-lasting affection and love for kids ? If he puts the toilet seat down after use does that count ? LOL
(No easier for women to prove the same, I'm sure.)
