The Tolerance Myth
spongebobcornerpocket
Posted on 05/10/2005 6:50:30 AM PDT by spongebobcornerpocket
Tolerance is an important issue, one that liberals spend hours discussing. However, the lack of tolerance that I see lies not on the conservative side, but within the liberal camp. Although a simple examination of the labels would cause one to think that conservatives are resistant to change and thus display an intolerant attitude, a closer examination of the ebb and flow of modern political debate reveals a much different picture. It is in fact liberals today who attempt to suppress and demean any viewpoint that is different from their own. Case point: George W. Bush - obviously liberals have a contrary view on most issues. However, instead of grabbing the bull by the horns, so to speak, and debating the issues in a public form, liberals choose to personally attack the man and impugn everything from his character to his intelligence. If this is indeed a man of questionable integrity and suspect intelligence, then those facts will become evident in the argument that he puts forth. Personal attacks in a political forum throw into question the merits of the attackers argument on the issues. Thus I encourage liberals far and wide, not to change your stance on the issues, but to come to the fight ready to sink your teeth into and grapple with the issues, not the proponent of them. Let us all be tolerant of those whose background and upbringing have equipped them with an alternative point of view.

Liberals can't afford keyboards with punctuation or a shift key because of the Bush Tax cuts.

Well it looks like a troll, smells like a troll, and types like a troll.
And it signed up today to post this.
It must be a Troll.
That is unless a Troll sympathizer comes along and tells us differently.

Sounds like the great Chelsie lie about 9/11. Supposedly, she was walking along stunned and blaming GW for his tax cuts.

Although this vanity post is vapid and smarmy, It can hardly be construed as Bush-bashing.
Not all first-day FReepers are as bright and lucid as you Troll-spotters - that doesn't imply, infer, or entail that they should all be Zotted.
Just my 2 bits.
