This is what we are fighting to preserve from the descructive forces of one of the laziest administrators that the University has ever had.

Photos of Campus
For the Alumni who haven't been to campus in a long time, these photos show some of the changes.

This is where the English building once stood. Now, the area is being converted into a sculpture garden

This is part of the new English/Philosophy complex

Here is a view of the other half of the English/Philosophy Complex.

Folks, the University Centre (UC) has been expanded.

Interior of the UC expansion.

This is a view from the new mezzanine area in the Library.

Here is the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library. This is the largest repository of material on the SW United States. Also this is home of the Vietnam Archive which is the largest repository of archival material on the Vietnam War outside the Federal Government.

Here is an aerial view of the western half of campus showing the addition to the Recreation Centre and the new United Spirit Arena.

Here is the English Philosophy Complex as seen from the 10 floor of the Architecture building.

Here are two views of the eastern half of campus.

Here is an aerial shot of the addition to the SBC Football arena. Sorry, this will have to do until I take a better, closer shot of it later this afternoon.

Here is the water sculpture at Memorial Circle.

Here is the addition to West Hall.

I did not include shots of the new on-campus apartments, the large new physics lab building, or the massive addition to the meat lab. More pics to follow this evening.

Thanks for the ping and all the great pictures. My oldest son starts work on his Ph.D. this summer at Texas Tech. He received his Master's in anthropology from Tech last year. He doesn't have any particularly nice things to say about Smith.

Okay, these shall be the last photographs of campus for some time; I do not want to overwhelm folks with photographs nor do I want to "break the Internet." :-)
Despite the number of images posted here, I want the alumni to keep in mind that there is so much that I have not posted. There aren't photographs of the International Cultural Centre, the $20 million+ Rawls Golf Course (paid for by a TTU alumnus), nor the massive expansion of the University Medical Centre nor the Museum of Texas Tech University.

Let the cavalcade of photographs begin!

First, is a shot of the new facade for the Jones SBC Arena

Next, is a photograph of the new Experimental Sciences Building.

Here is the Masked Rider statue between the two buildings that are part of the Alumni Pavilion.

Two shots of some of the news student housing on campus. These are full-fledged apartments on campus adjacent to the Biology building.

Here is a shot of the southwest corner of the United Spirit Arena.

Here is the expanded Meat Laboratory for all of you Agriculture alumni.

How many of you remember North Overton aka The Tech Ghetto?
The following shots show how much of it has been leveled for new construction.

This is a combination condo/business block. Businesses are on the ground floor with single story and loft apartments on the floors above.

These are just some of the half dozen new, large apartment complexes geared toward students.

Okay folks, that is all for a while until we start another thread on TTU or the Lubbock area. I hope that everyone has enjoyed these.
